I am having the same problem on my ACER Win 7 laptop with Intel HD graphics version 18.104.22.16827 which is the latest driver Intel released. I also applied Microsoft's fix per article KB2665946 and used all 3 steps with no success. Still get a black screen and error message that my display driver stopped responding and has recovered. This problem hasn't crashed my machine (yet) but the game blacks out for a short period and then recovers where I was.
My game settings are even lower than what shadow10052012 recommends and my laptop has intel i3 processor 4g of ram.
