Still... aside from its universal stations, Reginamala is spot-on. The Aquarius is nothing except a neutered Defiant.

In fact, a lot of ships added to the Fleet shipyards, up to and including Fleet variants of lower-level ships, are less effective versions of something else. It's rather disappointing that, for instance, the Fleet Escort Retrofit (the Saber-class and its variants) have things like a 0.77 shield modifier when the standard at the Fleet level for escorts is 0.9 - 0.99.

I was hoping to see a lot more variety in Federation starships doing STFs after the Fleet system came out, but all I ever see are Alien ships, Odysseys, Vestas, and the same escorts we've always had.
