Personally, Im a huge fan of reinforced marauding force. It does damage before the team enters the ship, it kills crew, it disables subsystems. The kill/disable sequence works the same as boarding party.
I am currently using it with my klink engineer in the corsair. With that ship, you can also use VM1. So, you can use first VM to force a ET, or marauding force to force TT. Your enemy cannot deploy both teams at the same time. Spend some points in decompiler, throw in a few tractor beams, use polarized disruptor beams with subsystem target and get a friend in an escort to make the finish......
