I know people like to have Andorians, Ferengi and Bajorans in their ship crews for aesthetics and RP reasons but to have a bigger impact on ship performance would be of immense value in the long run.
Aliens should have a random chance of ANY trait and a smaller chance of a second.
I'm not saying the passives should be space based exclusively. I like to ground missions too so a passive which boosted energy weapons (Bajorans maybe with some kind of Improvise trait) would be welcome too.
this seems like a much better way to go!
further, i would remove all the passive heal effects form boffs, and make them passive enhancements to active powers similarly to Doff passivs.
rather that the unbelievable mess we have now where a flying coffin full of dead crew can out heal an 800 crew cruiser just because
Figure out and address the players path of least resistance to reward. this one thing is THE consistent factor undermining all your efforts. be that crafting, raids or starbase projects.
