Amazing how many alleged Star Trek fans go out of their way to hate on anything remotely connected to JJ Abrams. When asked why, they never seem to have an intelligent or coherent reason for doing so. And then, the haters strive mightily to see which one can out hate the others. I'm not certain but it sometimes feels like they're getting paid to hate the JJverse.

I liked ST:XI. It was a refreshing take on TOS. Which I grew up watching. Unlike so very many, I also realize it takes place in an alternate timeline. Therefore it does not replace the original. If you can, go look it up, the Prophet Roddenberry (Honored be His name and in His service we all grind!) wanted to make an action adventure show in space. The majority of the popular shows on American TV networks at the time were Westerns or police dramas. Gene was dong a variation on a Western action adventure show. All this, "Star Trek is not a show! It's a religion!" foolishness started just about the time ST:TWOK was released.

TNG was waay too preachy and goody two shoes sometimes. DS9 went the other way. More times than not, DS9 failed because the writers realized too late the Feds were supposed to be the Good Guys. Voyager started out okay. The Doctor is one of my favorite Star Trek characters. Voyager then was ruined because someone decided to make the Jeri Ryan in a catsuit character the central figure of nearly all the stories. I know sex sells but come on! The Maquis members of Voyager's crew wore Starfleet uniforms so why couldn't Seven? How come the producers didn't simply make her parade around in that bikini, which was oh so carefully highlighted and enhanced in nearly every scene she was in, worn under the catsuit ? The FanBoys would have loved it.

"Buh buh buh... its got Jeri Ryan! In a catsuit!"

Hmmm.... Star Trek became Porn Trek. No thanks, I'll pass. Not Ms. Ryan's fault at all. I have since seen her in a few other things where she did a fine acting job. Without benefit of the catsuit.

Back on topic. I say no to this ship in STO. Or any other of the JJverse ships either. The Feds have too many OP ships/toys now. Adding to this list would be inappropriate. Shouldn't future Fed GodShips come from the Prime Universe instead of the Alternate anyway?
