There's so many situations that you just want your crew to just keep firing everything that can be fired at your enemy (as far as conventional weapons go).

Please add this option so I don't wear out my hand/wrist/spacebar or go buy some peripheral to achieve the same. This is the sort of busywork I'd like to think we've moved past - especially since Trek seem to have other tactical elements to keep busy with.

Right click the fire button...they will stay activated and auto-fire...been like that since the start....

I think the OP maybe referring to the fact that you can only set 1 forward and 1 after weapon on auto fire and no more. The rest you have to fire manually using space / ctrl + space.

Now, on a Miranda class isn't a huge issue.....

But trust me, when you get into an Escort and you're weaving about with cannons blazing, you dont have the fingers to be lining up your shot, hammering the space bar once per second, then hitting Ctrl+Space for the torpedoes.

And thats BEFORE you start having to be concerned with the cooldowns on your officer abilities and trying to bank around whilst having your shields shot to hell.

Plus, it appears that the game seems to have an issue with torpedoes and cannons all trying to fire manually. Sometimes mine just don't bother even though they go into cooldown (energy levels full).

In short, considering that auto-fire is already in for 1 Fore + 1 Aft, theres no reason why it cant be allowed for all fore + all aft.

Remember, theres a reason why sophisticated ships with weaponry aren't just manned by one person.

There is a Fire At Will ability for Tactical Bridge Officers. Other than that, you have to actually interact with the game in order to play it. Sorry. *shrug*

Have people experimented with the "auto attack" settings under the control options? There's one that says "In maintain mode you will attack for as long as the button is held down." I have no idea if that has the same problem of not applying to all weapons at once, though.
