I can't see why this is massively difficult. Everyone has the same ship for the duration of a Tier (10 levels) and can immediately equip top end (even ranked) ship parts as soon as the ship is acquired. Thus the only difference between (for example) a LC1 and an LC10 are the number of skill points spent.

Skill points, while they make a difference, if spent wisely early on aren't going to make that much of a functional difference.

So as LC1 beating a +13 space encounter, well its not much more different than a LC10 beating a +4.

So well done on your achievement, but I reckon an away mission with the same level disparity would be a lot more taxing!

This happened during the Lt and Lt Cm levels. But try to get a +12 in romulan space and then tell me. At Cm level +(over 10) is rather nasty and even a frigate ( I am in a cruiser) can really give me a run for my money :p

Despite his brevity, he does have a point. This game can feel too easy at times. Occasionally I'll get a good fight, but more often than not the fellow captain I duo with and myself will just tear through the enemy. Romulans are more of a challenge, but I am never in danger of dying with my cruiser.

It gets a lot harder when enemies starting to use their specials....tractor beams, stuns, disabled weapons..even boarding parties. You'll have fun

I just made commander and have noticed a dramatic change (for the better IMO)

well i think im gonna wait until the 30 days sub is up before stating what i feel in parts of this game.

however yes, this game is way way too easy. i regularly whip anything 3 or 4 levels above in a flash in ma T3 escort. i do know cruisers do struggle a little more than this however. science ships dont even need to spend skill points, that is the easy mode in the extreme. ground missions are just roll across the keyboard easy. waste of time.

i wish cryptic had made this harder and nerfed it as time went on. it was great at the start of OB

You know... I had a lot of stuff typed in there, but decided against it in case it can be used against us Science vessels.
