So I just built a new system and took STO out for a spin on it couple days ago and noticed some unusual tearing and flickering from loading screen on, I did some testing, disabled SLI and it ran fine, enabled SLI and it started again, with SLI enabled switched to windowed mode and ran fine, abot 60 fps in windowed mode since it is v-synced. I know there are some issues with the Nvidia drivers, but after talking to Evga, they seem to think that the game is not compatble with SLI? Anybody else having SLI issues or even crossfire?
Heres my system stats:
2x EVGA GTS250 (196.21 on all)
GT 8600 dedicated PhysX
MSI - mobo nvid 980i/hybrid SLI
AMD 965 Black 3.4ghz
4x2g Greil BD 2000
Mach 1 1220W PSU
I am having the exact same problem except with Crossfire. Running in Crossfire it almost looked like a 16 bit game. I had some serious flickering and tearing along with graphics glitches (pixelated auras around everyone, talking heads being completely white...). As soon as I disabled Crossfire everything looked like it should.

Something's majorly fishy about this game and the way it works with nVidia cards. In beta it worked great with my 8500GT. I upgraded to a 9800GTX between beta and retail just to prevent the little bit of FPS drop-off I was getting (Mostly in ground combat), and now I've got a whole crapload of issues.
I'm just going to go way back in time and try the old Omega drivers...
you guys sure this game is ready to be sli enhanced, even if it says it does usually takes a new patch. not having any issues with my built comp (9800 gtx+)
edit: and im running this at max setting without issue..... i hope your monitors are over 22 inches... othwise you dont even need sli
No Im not sure this game is sli enhanced yet, which is why I am posting here... if I run off one card my game is fine too with everything maxed... but in SLI it looks like crap... yours is fine, are u running in sli or single card?
What I would like to know is there anybody running this game in SLI in FUllscreen without any problems? And if so whats ur specs/drivers and are u using a custom sli profile.
I went from a 9800GT 512MB to dual GTS 250 1GB's in SLI, performance has done nothing but gone up for me. Running at max settings @ 1920x1200.
One weird thing though...is that on occasion the game crashes to the desktop saying that there is insufficient video RAM, and even says there's like a gig and half available in the error message itself. Really weird...but so far it doesn't happen often enough that it's really annoying.
