So from what I can see it appears that you can't promote your BOs to Captain, despite the fact that there is text in the UI that states how many skill points one needs to spend to do so and despite the fact that I unlocked a Captain level BO skill from doing 9 level of Photonic Theory.

So what gives?

Can I level these guys or not and if so, how?

And that said, if there are Captain level skills, shouldn't there be Captain level BOs and ship stations?

It's a little confusing.

That skill will go in the commander slot. There is no captain rank for BO's

I have a bugged bridge officer that has 5 space skills & only 3 ground skill.

this happened beacuse i replaced aceton field with reverse shield polarity before they fixed the bug.

this officer now has reverse shield polarity in the capatins slot but is unusable

raised a ticket shortly after the patch which fixed aceton field but have not had a reply yet.

Of course, that is a bug (reported, no response as yet), especially since I was only a Commander when I promoted her (accidentally and due to lag). Keeping her though. Even if she did out rank me for a while...

Somehow I trained a BO to be the same level as myself ... though i could not reproduce it
