Hey guys, Really enjoying the game. Question is does everyone start with the same ship? I am a tactical officer but my first ship is a cruiser. Wasnt sure if that was a generic starter ship or if I missed an option to pick an escort.

yes everyones first ship is a light cruiser, after your promoted to Lt Commander you can branch into the type of ship you want to fly.

Your T1 starter ship is marked as a Light Cruiser. Everyone gets the same one to start. You'll get the option to select an escort when you make Lt. Commander and get your T2 ship, and each promotion thereafter.

Yeah, everyone starts in the same basic light cruiser. There are variations for the Fed ships, but they have no effect on the stats of the ship.

One caveat is that some pre-order's came with a different starting ship. Gamestop for example got a TOS Constitution class they can use to start with.

It wasn't just Gamestop for the Constitution... my CE is Best Buy, and I was given it, too.

And just in case you didn't know, you have to reach Lt 11, and spend 6700 points on yourself, before you can get your next ship.
