I had an idea to just simply list everyone's points and views on the game in a civilized fashion, see what people like about the game, see what people dislike. See if we can give Cryptic enough player feedback in the hopes of making improvements to the game, after all - we play the game, we pay for the game. Why shouldn't we have some feedback in the hopes we can make the game better for everyone.

Your multiple choice test is slightly confusing, but I guess I'll pick [Space reserved for answer] on all the questions.

How long did it take you to reach Rear Admiral 5?, do you have multiple Rear Admirals or are presently levelling an alt?

I have yet to reach that rank. I am in no hurry to do so.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you enjoy the journey to Rear Admiral 5?, what was the high points and low points?

Not applicable

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you currently part-take in regular PvP, Fleet actions or Raidisodes? If so, what are you views on them? What do you think could be improved, and what issues need to be addressed?

I do not take part in any content that requires or strongly encourages grouping with people I am not familiar with, nor do I PvP. As such I cannopt speak to this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you prefer space combat or ground combat? If so, why? What makes that particular style of combat a better player experience for you over the other?

I find the need for combat at almost every turn to be distasteful, however I will say ground combat at least seems to be more immersive and have many more tactical options.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick one current issue in-game effects you the most, what changes do you think would benefit the game overall and why?

This is not Star Trek. It is a simple shooter with a Star Trek skin and I find it very difficult to immerse myself properly given this. I believe more effort put into missions that challenge my mind instead of my spacebar would be in order.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think since launch, Star Trek Online has lived up to your expectations? Do you think you will still be playing in six months time?

It absolutely has not lived up to my expectations. Having said that I will most likely be playing in six months if only because of friends and the hope that it will evolve in a direction I will find satisfactory.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What future changes would you like to see the most in Star Trek Online?

See above.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, what was the last MMo you played before joining Star Trek Online, why did you quit the last MMo and join this community?

Not counting Champions Online, I was playing both City Of Heroes and Star Wars Galaxies. I remained in CoH only because of a highly developed social community, and SWG because it was, in fact returning slowley to pre-NGE gameplay. Too little too late, I'm afraid, since everyone I had known and enjoyed RPing with was gone.

How long did it take you to reach Rear Admiral 5?, do you have multiple Rear Admirals or are presently levelling an alt?

My first Rear Admiral, took me around 4 days to reach Rear Admiral 5, Yes I rushed it and I do regret looking back. I have another Rear Admiral, and I'm also currently levelling an alt.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you enjoy the journey to Rear Admiral 5?, what was the high points and low points?

Yes, I enjoyed the journey to Ra5. Some of the high points was playing missions like the Trouble with Tribble, I loved that mission! Low points? Cage of Fire!! So many times yelling at my BoFFs to follow me or stop trying to commit suicide, some ways it was almost funny I guess.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you currently part-take in regular PvP, Fleet actions or Raidisodes? If so, what are you views on them? What do you think could be improved, and what issues need to be addressed?

I don't do PvP yet, waiting for more character slots so I can make a Klingon. I occasionally do Fleet Actions and I've done the new Raidisode, my views on the fleet actions is simple - keep out extreme high level players or make level brackets for the actions. As for Raidisodes, we've only seen one so far and I thought it felt extremely rushed and frustrating, possibly though, with careful planning I think the raidisodes could be definately a good think though.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you prefer space combat or ground combat? If so, why? What makes that particular style of combat a better player experience for you over the other?

Tough one, I like both space and ground. Maybe space combat is slightly easier at the current skill cap, because of issues with ground mobs having one shot abilities. I think ground needs work done but once its balanced, I think it could be great.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick one current issue in-game effects you the most, what changes do you think would benefit the game overall and why?

One issue, perhaps the current skill cap. Last minute changes are always never a good thing, fixes to the skill cap probably would benefit the game in so many ways.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think since launch, Star Trek Online has lived up to your expectations? Do you think you will still be playing in six months time?

More or less, new MMos are finicky at best. As for myself playing in six months time? Maybe, hopefully I will.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What future changes would you like to see the most in Star Trek Online?

More ship choices, more clothing options and a more diverse skill system.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, what was the last MMo you played before joining Star Trek Online, why did you quit the last MMo and join this community?

World of ********, I got bored with it. I'm a trekky, I've been waiting for a Star Trek MMo since 2006 when I first heard about STo being in development.

I don't do this very often, but I have decided to forgo being a smartass troll and answer your questions.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How long did it take you to reach Rear Admiral 5?, do you have multiple Rear Admirals or are presently levelling an alt?

I have not gotten there yet. I currently have a Captain 5 Tac and 2 Lt. Commanders... a Sci and an Eng.

I made an effort to not play the game very often after reaching Commander in such a short amount of time and not seeing much of a way to slow down my progress while playing. As a result, I have only played the game for about 8 hours or so in the last couple of weeks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you enjoy the journey to Rear Admiral 5?, what was the high points and low points?

Assuming the last few levels are the same, I have enjoyed it to an extent. I think the ground combat is pretty boring most of the time, and the exploration missions are very repetitive and boring. Additionally, I think the whole game is far too easy and because of these things, I have not enjoyed it as much as I had hoped I would.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you currently part-take in regular PvP, Fleet actions or Raidisodes? If so, what are you views on them? What do you think could be improved, and what issues need to be addressed?

I don't do PvP, but I LOVE the Fleet actions. They are probably my favorite part of the game. I think there should be a LOT more of them... multiple FAs for every tier, and I think they should nix the Crystalline Entity as a fleet action and make it a normal DSE instead. I haven't gotten to the raid yet, so I can't comment.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you prefer space combat or ground combat? If so, why? What makes that particular style of combat a better player experience for you over the other?

The space combat by far. I enjoy the dynamic of working with the Bridge Officers, upgrading their skills, training them in new ones, and upgrading my ship's equipment. This, along with the Fleet Actions, is the most enjoyable thing in the game.

I don't like the ground combat. Even using advanced tactics, I find it to be boring, repetitive, over long, and extremely easy. I also have run into some very annoying issues with the AI pathing of my BOs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick one current issue in-game effects you the most, what changes do you think would benefit the game overall and why?

I would like to see a better exploration system. Ideally, I would like to see one that does not involve floating in a shoebox and scanning anomalies as they spawn. I want it to feel more like I am traveling to unknown spaces and discovering new worlds. Additionally, I would like to be able to explore any planet at any time, regardless of whether I have a mission there or not.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think since launch, Star Trek Online has lived up to your expectations? Do you think you will still be playing in six months time?

By far it has not. I was absolutely shocked at how simplistic the game was when I first played it in Beta. I am going to stick around because, by now I think Cryptic has heard this criticism over and over again, and I hope they will be working to add some real depth into the game. Whether or not I will still be playing in 6 months depends entirely on the progress I see in the next couple of months to that end.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What future changes would you like to see the most in Star Trek Online?

Better exploration, more challenging missions, less repetitive missions, a better attempt at creating the illusion of an open world, larger instances, more fleet actions, a meaningful diplomacy system, an option to toggle the sector grid, ship interiors with ship centered missions, more personality for BOs, better AI pathing, and a better crafting system. There's a lot more, but those will do for now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, what was the last MMo you played before joining Star Trek Online, why did you quit the last MMo and join this community?

WoW. I quit playing it because I did not enjoy the elitist attitude that much of the community had been fostering. I am here because it is Star Trek. There is no other reason.

How long did it take you to reach Rear Admiral 5?, do you have multiple Rear Admirals or are presently levelling an alt?

Something like 3-3 1/2 weeks, I didn't really mark it in my calendar or anything .

I have a Lt. for the sole purpose of playing with a friend when he's around, and a Captain (just hit Captain) I was playing with to try being an engineer (although not lately, the players I met in game that I was running with haven't been on in over a week).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you enjoy the journey to Rear Admiral 5?, what was the high points and low points?

It was good. I enjoyed the missions; certain ones more than others (City on the Edge of Never for example.) If I was getting bored, I'd do some fleet actions, exploration, or enemy contacts. There's still room for more variety though.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you currently part-take in regular PvP, Fleet actions or Raidisodes? If so, what are you views on them? What do you think could be improved, and what issues need to be addressed?

I did a little PvP. I've never been much into pvp honestly, just something I'll play sometimes when the mood stikes me. Fleet actions are fun, can't wait for it to be level separated. The Raidisode...well I'll wait for more of my fleet to be ready before I try it again I think haha.

For improvements, I don't think I've had enough experience with Pvp or Raid to really say anything worth while. For fleet actions, I'd like to see more of them more than anything.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you prefer space combat or ground combat? If so, why? What makes that particular style of combat a better player experience for you over the other?

If I had to choose, I'd say space combat. Ground combat feels so loose to me. Space combat feels very much tuned and polished in compairison.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick one current issue in-game effects you the most, what changes do you think would benefit the game overall and why?

Nothing glaringly specific, just all the little glitches and bugs added together is my biggest problem.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think since launch, Star Trek Online has lived up to your expectations? Do you think you will still be playing in six months time?

Overall I'd have to say no. Firstly, the game ended up being far more arcadey than I expected. Now, that's not really a bad thing, I actually kind of like that.

Ship customization was nothing like I thought. Really it ammounts to three ships, mix and match parts. Throw on some paint. I swear I saw a saucer in a video before the game came out that I still haven't seen any where. What I'm saying is, I thought it would be more about, here's your class, you can pick many different parts.

The Alien creator is a lot more light weight that I thought it would be... But it's still light years beyond most MMO character options I've seen.

As for playing in six months, I'm not exactly sure if I'll be playing after this next month. I'm sort of in a wait and see what happens mindset at the moment.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What future changes would you like to see the most in Star Trek Online?

Ship interiors... Something more to the bridge (really it equates to a doll house at the moment)... Klingon campaign/PvE/whatever you want to call it... More ship customization/ship class...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, what was the last MMo you played before joining Star Trek Online, why did you quit the last MMo and join this community?

Ummm, last one was WOW I guess. But that was almost a year ago. I'm not the biggest MMO player ever. I didn't quit for this. STO was just on my radar since Perpeptual had it.

Been playing her since Headstart with 2 downtimes for fiance to catch up but currently at Captain 5. I also have a Lieutenant Commander 2 and a Lieutenant 2.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you enjoy the journey to Rear Admiral 5?, what was the high points and low points?

I'll let you know when I get there in the future. I am loving the game so far. I hate the insta deaths you can't avoid in the DSE's but without the Death Penality its livable.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you currently part-take in regular PvP, Fleet actions or Raidisodes? If so, what are you views on them? What do you think could be improved, and what issues need to be addressed?

I will never do PvP and Fleet Actions at present if I need to for a mission. Raidisodes will most likely be when I actually get to those levels

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you prefer space combat or ground combat? If so, why? What makes that particular style of combat a better player experience for you over the other?

I prefer non combat but between the two choices ground combat is better, primarily because I heal my group while letting the away team deal with the mobs with my help

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick one current issue in-game effects you the most, what changes do you think would benefit the game overall and why?

I need more non combat options. At present I am limited to repeating anomaly scans and abandoned station missions when my fill of violence has been reached.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think since launch, Star Trek Online has lived up to your expectations? Do you think you will still be playing in six months time?

I had no expectations for Star Trek except that I would have fun playing. I am having fun and if they implement more variety to exploration and patrolling missions I am sure I will be here for 6 months or even longer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What future changes would you like to see the most in Star Trek Online?

My signature has links to my threads for enhancing exploration and patrol missions.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, what was the last MMo you played before joining Star Trek Online, why did you quit the last MMo and join this community?

I played **** before this. We knew it was PvP orientated but thought we would try it out as a break from the 4-5 year boredom itch we were getting from WoW. After several months though the constant pvp stopping us from levelling got too much and we have pretty much left it behind. I still go back to say hi and maybe have fun crafting but thats pretty much it. I still also play WoW but not as a gaming factor but due to the addon programming I do there.

How long did it take you to reach Rear Admiral 5?, do you have multiple Rear Admirals or are presently levelling an alt?

On my main character about a week because I had quite a bit of free time

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you enjoy the journey to Rear Admiral 5?, what was the high points and low points?

I had a lot of fun with it. I liked the episodes and the missions. It didn't feel like a grind to me like other games I have played. I'd say the high point was when I finally hit 45. The low point was defiantly Cage of Fire.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you currently part-take in regular PvP, Fleet actions or Raidisodes? If so, what are you views on them? What do you think could be improved, and what issues need to be addressed?

I have a Klingon alt although not fully leveled. I have pvp'ed on both sides. There are some minor balancing issues that need to be addressed but there's enough threads on that so I wont list em. Overall its alot of fun.

Fleet Actions: I only did star base 24, It didn't have the fleet feel to me. I would like to see more cooperative style play added.

I tried the new STF yesterday. I enjoyed it, although we did not complete it. That lack of completion had nothing to do with the mission itself it was more of a PUG not listening kind of issue. Honestly this was the first challenge I have had in STO short of the bugs in Cage of Fire.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you prefer space combat or ground combat? If so, why? What makes that particular style of combat a better player experience for you over the other?

Space, I am a space junky. Ground combat is fine too I just prefer being on my ship.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick one current issue in-game effects you the most, what changes do you think would benefit the game overall and why?

I would say amount of content. I think adding episodes like the ones we had while leveling would be great fun. Not just STF but actual episodes. I would also like to see the episodes replayable without having to be grouped to do it. I don't care about the loot for that they are great fun and would like to re do them. With that I would like to see the difficulty scaled to my level.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think since launch, Star Trek Online has lived up to your expectations? Do you think you will still be playing in six months time?

I came in with very few expectations which probably explains why I don't get bothered as much as some of the other folks. Any new MMO suffers from bugs, server issues and lack of content. Every one I have played from launch has had the same issues. This game was much better at launch than other MMOs that I have played. Absolutely I will be playing in 6 months.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What future changes would you like to see the most in Star Trek Online?

more planets, episodes, STF, uniforms, larger social instances, more ships, something that adds the lower tier ships to the upper tier., streamlined currency specifically the the pvp and exploration badges I think it should be all one thing regardless of level or activity as the missions scale and I don't condone pushing people into pvp. skill cap revamp make skills stack more and lower the costs of abilities so we can get more than one maxed out skill and one 7 at admiral, npc's addressing you by the rank title you have displayed, an increase of weapons at the place where you by them with the exploration and pvp badges, higher level of difficulty not enough to be impossible just enought o be a challenge, im sure there is more I just can't think of it right now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, what was the last MMo you played before joining Star Trek Online, why did you quit the last MMo and join this community?

SWG, I quit for two reasons. One I played the game for 6 years (on and off between deployments) and it was fun. I had a great run there but it was time to move on, and my second reason was simply I like star trek better.

How long did it take you to reach Rear Admiral 5?, do you have multiple Rear Admirals or are presently levelling an alt?

I never got there. Gave up at Commander 5.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you enjoy the journey to Rear Admiral 5?, what was the high points and low points?

No. The whole game was a low point.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you currently part-take in regular PvP, Fleet actions or Raidisodes? If so, what are you views on them? What do you think could be improved, and what issues need to be addressed?

No.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you prefer space combat or ground combat? If so, why? What makes that particular style of combat a better player experience for you over the other?

Space. Ground combat is like being drunk.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick one current issue in-game effects you the most, what changes do you think would benefit the game overall and why?

The game's rubbish. Make it not rubbish.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think since launch, Star Trek Online has lived up to your expectations? Do you think you will still be playing in six months time?

No, it has totally failed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What future changes would you like to see the most in Star Trek Online?

Everything. Make it all not suck.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, what was the last MMo you played before joining Star Trek Online, why did you quit the last MMo and join this community?

This was my first one. And likely my last.
