Would someone please explain how some of the factions we fight outside of the borg space are also within borg space when the only way INTO the territory was through the transwerp gate... which is something that most factions should NOT have access to:

Orion Syndicate
Nassicuans
Romulans

And a few others that I can't spell properly, I've even ran into a Cardassian once...

But, what's worse, is that when we encounter Species 8472 or the Borg, we are 'Given Authorization to open fire due to hostile act'.... SAY WHAT?! Why do we need permission to fire on two factions that are openly hostile?

The likely explanation is that they simply re-used the earlier mission interfaces, rather than doing something creative. Most of the Captain+ content is simply slightly more complex versions of the same content from earlier ranks especially the "exploration" missions.

If this is what we have to look forward to in the 24th/25th century when out exploring the Milky Way, I'll just stay home on my Holodeck, thank you. Otherwise I might be forced to prematurely end my dull existence with a full phaser shot to the head.

Fitting Borg into the mission framework from the rest of the game = lazy epic fail.

Going into missions where the Borg are supplying arms to one side of a civil conflict or responding to a distress signal from a Borg sphere, just to name a few...

Come on cryptic, you can do better than that
