Couldnt agree more, doesnt matter what the devs like. If they want to keep subscribers they need to make the players happy. And that means making Trekkies happy.
I started to create my own thread about this, but stopped when I realized one existed, albiet old.
It seems STO's DS9 has ballooned to even bigger proportions since the original post...it is now so hilariously oversized that the entire diameter of an Excelsior's saucer section fits comfortably inside a docking port that should be snug even for the nose section of a Defiant.
Devs, any plans to resolve these blatant scaling issues on what is an iconic symbol of the Star Trek series, especially given that the next Featured Episodes supposedly are Deep Space Nine-themed?
DS9 was not a great time for those of us with tech-manual fetishes. So many kitbashes of ships and ship parts of radically different scales, so many battle scenes adjusted and randomly rescaled ships "because it looked good in the episode".
It was, after all, just a TV show. And what mattered most was making the scenes exciting and easy for audiences to visually comprehend what was going on.
