# 1 transphasic cluster torpedo?

I was in kerrat killing feds when I saw a transphasic cluster torpedo, at least I think that's what the name was... Am I seeing things or is this the high yield transphasic torpedo?

It is the reward from the new weekly mission.

It is basically a torpedo, that when it hits, spawns a net of 16 Transphasic torpedoes.

If used properly, it will suck the health out of anything.

Its basically a torpedo (torpedo cooldowns) which spaws net of transhasic mines as if you used dispersal pattern beta III.

It would be great if you could chose the type of mines. But its using the crapiest (tm) projectile in STO.

It shares the same cool down with mines; it cycles when mines are deployed. It's improved by mine skills and transphasic projectiles.

I'm using it on my mine-laying escort (engineer captain), and it's a lot of fun. Take down a target's shields with a volley of cannon fire, launch the Transphasic Cluster Torpedo and watch as the ship's loses about 25-50% of it's hull. On one instance I had about 7 or 8 of the mines get critical hits, so they were hitting bare hull for 1000-1200 damage each.

With the torps the bonus is pointless once your target's shields drop. With mines it actually helps when you're taking on multiple targets.

Are you sure skills affect it at all? I've no skill points spent in mines or transphasic projectiles. And get the same results.

According to the description Torp skill, Mine skill and one more add to the effectiveness of the torpedo.

Nope, it shares cooldown with torpedoes. You can drop mines and shoot the torpedo at the same time.

and if used improperly its a complete waste of a weapon slot. (which ive seen more and more wasted shots)
