I don't begrudge you the right to make money, but I think you have gone too far. Some things should just be part of the game and I believe that changing ones name should be just that. Limit it to rank advancements if it needs to be limited at all, but charging for it is just plain wrong, especially when the amount you want for it is outrageous. I'd dump my character and start from scratch before I'd pay to change my name.

How many other MMOs lets you change your name freely?

I have yet to see a single MMO give you a name change free of charge. Of course, I could be wrong, but none of the ones I played give you that option. Just be glad that they have a way for you to do that without rerolling your character. Some games don't even give you that (I don't think). If you don't like it, reroll your toon.

****, City of Heroes, Guild Wars(that would be $12ish for a name change), World of ********, Champions Online(duh) and more offers it for money.


Now... Star Wars Galaxies actually offered it for free once upon a time.
Not sure if they still do. Basically if it was if they were in a good mood when you sent in a ticket asking for a new name.
