I’m planning on doing the “What Lies Beneath” mission with an Alt.
What must I do to keep the Flashlight this time?

I don’t understand why Cryptic allowed some players to keep it, but took it away from others.

From what I've read, it's an accident that some players got to keep their flashlights. But who knows? Maybe they decided to change it recently.

You don't. Those keeping it is a bug. It doesn't work outside the mission anyway.

Someone had a screenshot using them on another mission. I think the key was to give them to your boffs. I think you get as many as you want from that crate . If the crate only gives one grab the flashlight put it on a boff and restart mission.

Myself and all four of my BOs have them (and use them in every mission now).

They work outside the Devidian missions (just not in social areas).

If you want a flashlight(s) after completing the mission, simply get someone to share it with you. Go back in, open the box, take a lght, give it to a BO, get another light, rinse/repeat. Beam out. Drop the mission.
