Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
One reason I do is I fly a fleet escort on my fed toon. The BoP isn't different enough to the fleet escort whereas the Raptor is a whole other animal (no pun intended).
That aside, the BoP relies heavily on finesse, or at least that's how I feel when flying one. It feels way too 'touchy' to me. A fed escort, even a tactical one, can be tough and have a tough feel and still have great dps.
Basically the sort of tactics one is forced to employ to play a BoP most effectively -or at all- feel cowardly and 'soft' to me. I want to play a dps ship without having to fly off and fly back constantly and I don't want to have to rely heavily on cloak. I want to feel able to fly into and/or decloak in the middle of several ships without a whole lot of support around and be able to survive. Even in the cases where I don't survive I most often irritate people so much due to their desire to kill me, me annoying them, and me making myself tough to kill that they've let themselves get distracted and neglected the rest of my teammates while they've made major gains (great fun...) I also want to ram people...
Overall, I don't want to be a glass cannon and sacrifice all else just for the sake of doing dps and killing everything. (and topping the stupid charts which I don't even pay attention to)
**** all if I know as I can't really kill Jack Stone everytime I play against him. :p(lol)
APA+ CSV1+APD+ BO1 followed by a time TorpSpread1 at 5-7km on average with Green mk5 DBB disruptors,DH cannons Disruptor, Quantam torpedo, 2+15 Disruptor consoles and a +15 cannons, not to mention complete ambush bonus...........
And I still cannot crack the shields on a Cruiser at Commander level without long sustained fire.
I might be a truelly horrible player, but that seems like an awful lot of buffing to see no effect in combat
I'm not upset so much as needing sleep, but still I do have fun.
@Roach: Jack Stone's giving you trouble? Jack Stone's much easier to potentially not die to, when Jack Stone doesn't have support around him. That's been my experience.

Its a friendly rivalry.
Jack flies a Cruiser teamed with an escort named Bolo in PvP, that has been giving me fits.
These two have been nice enough to let me shoot at them a bit before they kill me.-lol
I can't seem to go the distance long enough without dying to bust them up.
I posted my gripe last night as a carthardic release of tension about it.
The post is only a half truthful concern, I don't actually believe that the Klinks have stealth nerfed.
Not really anyways...................

I probably should have said that they are great for >me< when using >my< Sci.
I can match most raptor pilots kill/damage ratio in my Tactical BoP with less weapons and less Tactical BO slots - To cut a long story short I prefer the BoP over the Rap as a Tac (only).
Because it's a great ship that matches my situational abilities -it has great DPS capability and the Sci/Eng BO's add a little better survivability.
Personally I prefer 4 forward cannons and use one of the rear slots for torps as a defensive measure if some fed tac is riding my a$$
For attack, it's CSV 1 & 2 with CRF3 if the situation warrants. Defensively, HE2 with Aux Batteries, PH, ET1, RSP 1 plus being in a team with an awesome Eng Cruiser dishing out heals like there's no tomorrow enhances longevity a great deal.
It's a great ship but everyone is different and has different styles.
