I'm new to STO, this is my second day, i just got a shiny new Escort vessel, and im really enjoying the game so far.
I'm a long time MMO player, so i know that i wont last on the game alone, theres only so much one can do alone. So here i am lookin' for a fleet.
Ideally i'd like a fleet that dips its toes into everything, wetehr it be RP/PVP/ PVE/crafting, i'd like to try anything but nothing super serious in one department, i left wow after hardcore raid burnout, so dont want to go back to that, id like a fleet that is friendly and has a good atmosphere. I'm a brit so a decent amount of UK/Europers would have to be in it, but i dont want it to be UK/EU exclusive, its great that everyone plays on the same server so i'd like a worldwide fleet too.
not much to ask huh? i guess i'm pretty picky. im not someone that bounces guild to guild, i want to find a good 'un and stick to it. if you think you fit what i'm after please get in touch.
you should cast your eyes over The Mercenary Order since we fit what you describe (well mostly ... I'll explain if you contact me). Additionally I am also a Brit and it would be nice to have another in the fleet. If you are interested then PM me or contact me in game (@adz21c).
The folks here are very nice, there are lots of activities to do at your own pace.
No push no rush. We are a pretty relaxed group. Visit the web site as there is a lot to take in.
This a well established fleet and there are world wide members.
There is almost always somebody online from different time zones.
Browse around and take a good look at all the fleets that you hear from.
We have members literally from around the world, including the UK so we are able to accommodate a variety of time zones.
The fleet has a very active role-playing forum. Participation is not required, but it is a lot of fun. You are welcome to check out our role-playing section and enjoy the stories that develop on the different ships.
We also have expert crafters and fleet oriented STF's and just regular mission and episode participation.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by PM here or at the Lotus Fleet forums--I'm Jeff T there.
Good luck with your fleet search and I hope that you’ll stop over and visit us.
OK... so there are a lot of fleets out there and MOST of them are looking for members. The question is... WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE? While a lot of LENGTHY posts will try to dazzle you with a zillion words, I'm going to cut through all the chatter and clue you in with just three letters... U-F-P!
HI Anthony and welcome to STO! It's a fab game and there's a good deal to do (although there could always do with being more!) and you've joined at just the right time with Season 4 on it's way shortly!
I'd like to recommend if i may, the UFP. It's an international fleet with a very large UK and euro membership. I am also fromt he UK (Warwick) and I can tell you that we don't struggle to form groups at our peak timezone.
In terms of the UFP fleet though, I can tell you that we pride ourselves on providing the best gaming experience you can expect from a clan or fleet. There is the usual forums (if you're a Trek fan you ought to check out the wonderful LCARS layout that we have!) and Teamspeak which is purely optional but heavily used by most. But then there's the little things. We provide a recruit support officer to help you integrate with the fleet and is your point of contact for any issues you may have. We have several event officers within the fleet which support the usual raid style end game content but also pvp, grinding, foundry mission nights (player made content) and meet and greets.
You will also find a wonderful collection of people who are more than willing to help out where they can. Above all, there is a wonderful environment for people to come and relax and game together and we try our utmost to keep it that way. We also work hard to ensure that everyone has an equal chance of progressing up the ranks and helping out with the running of the fleet in a variety of ways, all big and small, should you wish to. We're also holding a meet up at Thorpe Park in Surrey and giving our members FREE tickets!
So if you want to know more then please check out our website and if you decide to make the leap then you can join here.
There's plenty of good fleets around though and I hope you choose the right one for you.
Picking up on one thing you said... "im not someone that bounces guild to guild, i want to find a good 'un and stick to it." - I hope you take the time to look at some of the fine Fleets that have posted responses to your call in this thread, we can vouch for many of them. We too prefer to avoid jumping from fleet to fleet, looking for the right fit. So we and many of these other fleets post extensive information on our recruiting threads here in Starbase One, and on our own Fleet Forums. I encourage you to check them out, so that you can make an informed choice.
If logic and intellect drive your gameplay, and friendly, casual, and light RP reflect your communication style, then please give the VKF a look-see. Read a few posts here at our recruiting thread, and if they spur you to look deeper, head over to The Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet and learn more about how the VKF operates.
None of us want a new member who will leave after a few days or weeks or months - we are looking for long-term friends to enjoy STO with, together. So please take your time, and make a wise choice - many of the long-established Fleets in STO are so because we listen and respond to our members' needs - compare your needs with ours and see if logic brings you to the VKF. Live Long and Prosper!
Gonna give it a few more days, to get into the game more, sort some ingame disconnecting issues that are frustrating me, some RL events to go too, and then go through all the ones who have been kind enough to post a reponse in here,or have sent me an ingame mail and ones that have yet to leave their info, and see if i can find a good fit for myself,
Thanks again its really appreciated and nice to see a good community on my new favourite game.
