# 1 Possible Defiant Nerf?

◦Mines, high yield torpedoes, and tricobalt devices now have faction neutral AOE damage. ■This means if a player drops a tricobalt device on a target at point blank range both the target and the player will take splash damage.

Thats from the latest release notes on holodeck,

Possible Defiant nerf? seemings we have to get point blank to get the most damage?

With ANY energy weapon this was ALWAYS the case.

So it's a "Defiant nerf" because only Defiant uses this kind of weapons right?...right?

same rules apply for your target


also all torps that can be shot down will get a high chance to not get hit -> you should be able to shoot your torps from further away without them being shot down instantly

oh and all Torps fly at the same speed now, wich is FASTER then the fastest torpedo before (if i read the patchnotes right)


change != nerf

...and most certainly not Defiant Nerf... lol?

The term would be Escort (and Raider) nerf, not just defiant.

Tricobalts/ HY/ Plasma are only effective at 1-2 km becuase they are easily shotdown

Without making Torpedos fast* enough to make them useful, these two types will fail under the new FF rules (which I actually agreed with) as they still may ahve to be launched Point blank.

* or tougher to shootdown, etc, etc.

3/4 shots against Tricos/HY Plasmas will miss statistically.

They travel MUCH faster.

They can now be Spread (making them harder to shoot down in general... more targets, each moving faster, means far higher chances to connect with target).

When the intended target is destroyed or unavailable, the torpedo will now automatically seek a new enemy target instead of voiding itself.

Poor Defiant... It's okay. My Lance still loves you.

Here, why don't you two get better acquainted...
