The Tier-5 Excelsior had its Transwarp Ability turned into a universal Console, yes? And yet... it receives no Console Slot. So... in effect, it loses a Console slot.

EVERY OTHER SHIP that had its Special Power turned into a Console received an extra Console Slot. Even some that DIDN'T have their special power turned into a Console got an extra slot.

What the hell!? Does Cryptic hate the Excelsior?

Now that it is pointed out... yeah.. wtf? Why do I loose a full console slot now in comparison to the other T5 ships? Not cool cryptic, not cool.

it's called balancing. i don't see any reason to give the excelsior more console slots than any other t5 ship. it already has the same console layout as the sovereign.

It had an extra slot before all this mess with making special powers into consoles, and as far as I could tell, it wasn't unbalanced. So how is this not NERFING the Excelsior?

That's not what I'm getting at. I'm saying that the Excelsior now has to waste a slot on its special ability, denying the Captains who fly it the use of that slot for something more useful.

While... every other ship basically has no change. It got nerfed. And I can't see why, in any terms, it would need to be nerfed. It wasn't broken, why mess with it?

yeah, because the transwarp stuff is that important. how often do you use that? once a week? less? i think i used it - well, i NEVER used it on my excelsior.

btw., don't forget that they buffed the console. now you get some extra power across all systems if you use it. put it in a sci console slot and everything is fine. since it also boosts aux you shouldn't lose much compared to a sci console and still have more energy in weapons/engines/shields.

I fail to see the logic in it being nerfed. It has the same slots as all other T5 ships now. Yes I have one one on tribble i was messing with. And i also have a T5 tac escort retrofit. I was actually glad to see that all the T5 ships have the same amount of console slots.

Big deal, now you have to choose if you want to keep the console in there or replace it with something else. Just like all the other T5 craft now. And with it being a universal console. You can put it in any slot you want. I find having every T5 ship with the same amount of slots more balanced. Also If you noticed with the Dreadnought and Multi-Vector they changed them from being RA - VA ships. So those two gaining a console slot seemed fitting anyways.

As for the T5 tac escort retrofit. It honestly needed the boost in my opinion. The Fleet escort had more console slots then it did.

The T5 Excelsior really hasn't been nerfed. Instead the rest have just been brought up to it's level. And the power gain from that console more then compensates for the fact that it takes a slot up.

The issue is that all the other ships are gaining console slots to accommodate for their new consoles.

The Excelsior, who has the least combat useful console, didn't gain any new slots. Hell, even the galaxy dreadnought gained a new slot.

yeah, because the dreadnought had one console slot LESS than the excelsior .. now they have the same amount ..

the excelsior should've come with one console slot less when it hit holodeck first. than everybody would be happy now .. but since it just had a sucky non-combat power cryptic said: "well, we'll give it the extra console slot on top so nobody can complain" ..
