I'm honestly curious. Why must Klinks always attack me when I'm engaged with Borg and covered with their plasma and shield neutralizing spam?

Is there some special honor in this? Is it really that enjoyable to do? Is the tactic at the top of page 1 in the BoP operator's manual? Or do you do it because you can't kill me in a straight up fight and therefore must take me when I'm damaged?

I don't mind it once... OK, you got me, yay. But when it happens 2, 3, 4 times... really? REALLY?

Can someone please explain the reasoning or fun behind this?

When you are already busy with NPC enemies and therefore can't fight back effectively you mean?

Seems like the best time to attack anyone, really.

(sorry, but you had to know its coming, right?)

Honestly man it's fun. I don't even fight the Borg in kerrat. I hover over pve'rs cloaked looking for klings to jump them. Then I spoil their party fed style. No gankin muh rp'rs. Not ons muh watch!

So the next time you need backup you know who to call...

uummm.... because the standard BoP has about zero chance to kill me if I am NOT engaged, and a pretty good chance to pull aggro if we start a turning fight near borg-land. Which - of the two of us, smart money would be on the BoP to PoP first if we both get tractor treatment and shield love from the Borg.

Seriously - and I play Fed almost exclusively - pair up. In Ker'rat there are plenty of easier targets, a BoP or Raptor is really not going to mess with a cruiser/anything or escort/anything pairing. And two sci ships? They might. And end up in perpetual grav wells / tykens with zero engine power and dwindling hull.

Its Ker'rat and both factions have people that do it.

Its a tactic to slow down Fed/KDF progression of the mission and insure your/our side wins.

It can be annoying but comes from running a mission in a open field of battle.

I sometimes will protect PvE'ers by shadowing them. It's funny to watch a klink get ****ed when I blow him up before he blows up the PvE'er/farmer. Usually it goes "damnit crimson"! from the klink, then the fed thanks me. I should charge a "protection" fee :p

OP, if I am logged in PM me if you need help while in rat space. I love beating up the -x- squad

I remember someone complaining about it like crazy in kerrat zone chat last night, but it wasn't you. I do remember you talking, possibly in another zone, but I don't remember what you said.

Regardless, I enjoyed my time in my eng/defiant ganking the BoPs that were trying to gank feds. I've been leveling another klink for myself lately, so it was a nice change of pace.

Anyway, welcome to ker'rat. You're under threat at all times because it's open PvP. Always be prepared, or else expect to pay the price.

Normally, I'd say suck it up, but you've probably already got a couple pages of that by now.

You want to know why they do it?

They get off on it. And if you call them on this blatant aggrevation... well, they get off on that too.

I don't quite understand it either. I rather prefer a victory on even terms and conditions over completely dominating a helpless enemy. People like that remind me of kids who like to pull wings off insects or torment animals. Groks me as wrong. I'm just not sadistic like that.

Before people say 'It's just a game.'...... exactly! No consequences worth mentioning, so people's ugly behaviour tends to turn up. Including bullying and sadism.

So that's jerk behavior in online games in a nutshell. Sorry, nothing much can be done about it. But don't blame yourself or gaming in general. It's up to the individual. It's THEIR malfunction. Not yours.

Tell you what. Next time someone pulls that stuff in Ker'rat, send a distress signal. Call up your friends. Call up their friends. Call up your fleets. Call up your entire faction in zone chat in the Eta Eridani sector. Call for help! You need backup? Then don't be afraid to ask for it.

That's interesting and probably true for some, but not all. Why do the powerless always sort to name calling? Is it to make them feel better about themselves?

The truth is the zone is a mix between PvP and PvE. Entering the zone is asking for a confrontation. It is, after all, called a War Zone.
