# 1 100 Duty officer Limit?
12-06-2011, 01:51 PM
So I have a 100 Doff limit, or I can only have 100 doffs on reserve at a time. I don't plan to stop collecting them at 100 though, since I can replace common with uncommon, rare, and so on. My question though is, what happens when I hit the 100 doff cap? Does it prevent me from recruiting any more until I have room? Or is lt like the Boffs where they would remain in a list of officers I can claim later as long as I have room? Do they stay on the request doffs list or something for me to claim later once I remove one of my current doffs? I would rather do this, because then I can decide who to dismiss based on who I know will be replacing him. So I don't remove my only specialist at something and then have him replaced with yet another diplomat lol.

Please let me know if you have figured out how this works.

thanks in advance!

Just sell your excess commons or uncommons.

Or if you can't because they're locked... dismiss them.

I reached the cap too. I found, however, that active officers doesn't affect your reserve roster count, so if you haven't used some active DOffs do so to free up ten crew.

if you're at your limit and you have some DOff recruitment missions to complete, it won't allow you to collect the reward. You can just keep the mission until a reserve slot or two frees up.

ahh ok good to know. Does this let me see which DOff I will be awarded before pressing complete? So that I can try to replace a similar DOff and keep a variety of specializations.

Some of the Recruitment missions reward packs (which are random assortments) and others reward specific assignment DOffs (such as Tactical or Science). For the assignment versions the mission will show images of the officers you should be receiving, however, this is currently bugged and does not show the actual DOffs you will get upon completion.

In short, no. There is no way to tell what Duty Officers you will be rewarded.

So, you can't plan ahead further than deleting Tactical DOffs if it's a Tactical recruitment or Science DOffs if it's Science recruitment. And even then it's a fifty-fifty shot between Tactical or Security and Science or Medical.

Me too. It comes up so often. :-(

Let me know how to get it, if it ever comes up?

I only tested on Tribble in the beginning so this may have changed, but if I recall correctly I couldn't collect the assignment awards if it put my DOffs over 100. So until I removed some DOffs from my roster the assignment would remain in the completed category, which will count against the 20 assignment limit. And I believe there's a 20 hour reset time between missions after completed, so until you can acknowledge the recruitment and get the specified cadre you shouldn't be able to get that same recruitment assignment.

I forgot to add... if you're a Klingon you can always do the mission where you get to execute crewmen for incompetence... :p

I did that one once, and did not want to do one of the Blue they suggested, so I picked a white from my main list that had Double Traits of others, and the mission failed. Couldn't even kill the Bugger.

there are similar doff missions on the fed side, where you can "reassign" doffs you don't want, I think there was one for reassigning whites and greens then one for reassigning blues and purples. IIRC, these are in the Recruitment category, and could be taken in the Sol system.
