***Resolved Issues***
  • "Login failed for unknown reason" error

Areas of my ships are blacked out when they weren't before today's patch.

I had this problem with black mold on characters when this build was on Tribble. It was fixed when I downloaded the latest (290.53) beta drivers for my GTX570, where I had been running the latest WHQL drivers.

Short version - update your video drivers.

Didn't fix it for me, so I rolled back. The advice for one to update their drivers should never be to imply they should "try out" a beta driver, though. That's putting some folks at a risk that might not be worth taking. While mileage varies per beta driver, it's best to wait for the WHQL drivers before giving folks the advice to update.

What fixed it for me, actually, was toggling the FPS stabilizer settings. I do not see how it had anything to do with the textures, but toggling the FPS stabilizer (and auto) settings had an immediate effect (even before hitting apply) that also significantly increased my FPS. I am not quite back to the peak performance I had six months ago, but it's playable for now.
