# 1 Risa Cave Help
02-05-2012, 10:38 PM
Alright so here's an interesting problem.
I'm creating a mision that takes place on Risa right? So I'm using the cave to host a small set of objects and two npc groups. The objects have settled in just fine, the npc groups on the other hand have well..... become stalagmites for lack of a better term. I have them set at -32 for their y axis at zero altitude.
I've tried other settings, but unfortunately then the mountian starts shooting at you with nothing for you to target in order to shoot back.
I know that there's some kind of work-around because two out of all of the npc's are properly placed. Is there someone who knows how to do this or will the player have to shoot several celling cats?
Any constructive answers are welcome and thanks in advance for any form of an answer.
Sincerly,
That one guy who is likely to die by the end of the episode with no questions asked.

Try setting the NPC groups with Y equal to terrain (don't worry about the individual actor settings). See if that works.

I believe there's a bug that's been mentioned with NPC groups set with Y equal to zero altitude.

Just tried it and the results are the following:
Good news:
The npc's look less like stalagmites and more like things that we kill on a regular basis
Bad news:
I'm still killing celling cats...
I'm not trying to be offenceive, I really am not, and I actualy think that this is most likely the best alternative should nothing else work, so I'm sticking with it until something better comes along.

If you want, you can do a test publish of your map and I will take a look at it. Maybe by looking at it I can get a better idea of what the problem is.

If you do decide to do that, let me know what the mission is called (name it test or something like that).
