Mission: Past imperfect.

Klingon Class D7 Battle cruiser, Estimated era - 2267

Defiant class Heavy escort, Estimated era - 2366

100 year difference in terms of technology, and yet, these D7 cruisers appear to do much more damage and are a far greater threat to my ships, than anything in modern times, including borg spheres.

I mean, shouldn't my retrofit defiant, equipped with top end borg addons, 4 anti proton turrets and 4 anti proton dual heavy cannons, rip through these things like a hot knife through butter?

Why not change the mission so there's say, 10 D7 ships, rather than 2 at a time, then lower their damage output and shields to match the era you're "supposedly" fighting in?

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. Even more when you consider that the Klingons of the era were generally only up against the technologically-superior-but-pacifist Federation and a few minor species. They didn't have to worry about the Borg or the Dominon, two enemies whose mere appearance on the scene forced radical upgrades from everyone in the Alpha Quadrant just to survive.

To take this further, the ships and tech of STO are a full 30 years of R&D added on to the advancements made in TNG/DS9. Nothing from the 23rd-century Alpha Quadrant has any business denting the shields of an STO present-day warship, or lasting more than a couple seconds against the future ship's firepower.

The space battle in this mission should really resemble Wolf 359 in its lopsidedness.

Just a limitation of the game engine, I suppose.

Yea, sure seems that way

It's bad though, because the enterprise of that era, which is battling TWO D7's and the future klingon ship, isn't having much of a problem surviving on it's own

Also noticed all the klingons in this era have no shields on their armour, yet they're able to take multiple energy and grenade shots, before dying heh

I believe those ships were upgraded with modern technology - which is why you were supposed to destroy them, not even leaving the hull behind.

As far as the TOS Enterprise surviving, it only does so because the game won't let it die. I've seen it go to 0 Hull several times. It wouldn't be a very good time travel mission if Kirk and the Enterprise were destroyed in it.

Actually Ive seen the TOS enterprise destroyed but apparently have no effect on the mission since the enterprise seems to reappear.

But yeah those D7 battlecruisers are WAY overpowered.

Yea it's interesting how the Enterprise/A is able to hold it's ground against all three, yet when those same ships fire at my super advanced 100+ year old futuristic ship, designed to combat the borg, they manage to knock my forward shields offline real quick lol
