Now, I'm not dissappointed by the ship design itself... What I'm dissappointed in is the huge amount of hype we had on this ship, and its period of use is short.

To be honest, I always thought the Stargazer class was going to be an end game ship, but now, after 2 years, I think back figure... "Why is this ship where it is?"

Am I the only one wondering why the Stargazer was hyped, and then lost in the myriad messes?

I really like the design, despite some flaws that I've tried to point out since beta, but since when was the Stargazer class ever "hyped"?

It was this huge deal before launch that there was a stargazer class and that its brand new for 2409. I believe it was talked about more than the Noble class, but a little less than the Dervish class

In the same way the Excalibur wasd "hyped": it was featured in a handful of articles with bits and pieces of background.
When that's hyping these days...

I dislike the Siamese Twin designs of thenacelles. And of course, it's weird that the Tier 5 quad nacelle ship, the Advanced Escort, is an Escort, while the Stargazer is a Cruiser. Or an NPC only ship (Jupiter).

Actually, the "heavy cruiser" platform works better than the "explorer cruiser" does. You give up one weapon, some hull, crew and a few boff stations and consoles, but its totally usable all the way up to Rear Admiral. I know people who appreciated it more than any of the tier 4 ships designs.

I love this ship as well! I use it as my Vice Admiral Flagship. My variant is all Stargazer with a Cheyenne upper pylon and a Dakota lower pylon. It works great. Even in the STF's . I do wish that there was a Tier 5 version , but I'm really happy with it now. I don't like the look of the other ships. Except for the Constitution (TOS) and the refit. The TOS version doesn't look quite right I'm afraid, though.

And just like that, this thread is closed. Silly humans, please don't raise zombies from the dead. It's just not pretty.
