So does the rarity actually means something?

Rarity improves Boff traits and the likelihood that they'll have a rare skill (such as Auxiliary to Structural 3). Rarer grades of Saurian and Lethean officers may have Efficient, one of the very few Boff traits that does something in Space.

Ah! i see I never liked Ether asdics so I don't keep them granted I dodn't think I ever had the option for a Saurian
