Subject: I feel that the game is less flat , or said more accurately depth perception and distance geometry are more consistent when Ansiotropic filtering is set to 2 or off.
objects seem to be the right size in the distance and enlarge properly to give the sense of traveling.
The main thing anisotropic filtering does is make textures on angled surfaces stay more crisp as they recede into the distance. Maybe your brain processes that blurriness kind of like it's depth of field? Or maybe if you are nearsighted it feels more "natural" to have textures get blurry more quickly?
Or are you suggesting AF actually affects the way the game renders in terms of distance/lod?
