borg seem a bit over powered is it normal for 12 honor gaurd shields to get oneshoted with 12 ablative armor all 12 blue consoles so why am I getting oneshotted
some sort of adjustment with cubes is needed badly

so guys I recomend normal till they get fixed


as it stands we have no chance of completing option so increase chance of getting tech


trust if you don't have 12 weapons or 12 don't try elite in cure space

I'd rather they fix player's intelligence first so they know how to win. Not saying the toughness isn't an issue, but there are more pressing matters. :/

I did CSE 5 times over the weekend, without 1 MK XII console, and finished it each time (only failed the optional once).

Also, getting the optional has nothing to do with getting MK XII tech.

So recommend not playing Elite without Mk XII gear. Ok...

Sean please don't think that my comment is meant in anyway to be rude towards you, for it is not. I enjoy sarcastic humor and this fits the bill. However, we do know that there are other ways to get Mk XII gear from.

Now as for the topic, I do agree with you Sean. The one shot kills really need to stop. They are the Borg so they will be stronger than any Fed or KDF ships out there, but please it is a little overboard.

Besides, do you really need the proto engine tech? I keep trying CSE because I'm a completist and I want both full sets but in reality I will never use either MK XII engines. My MK XII MACO shied/deflector along with the Borg engine/console works fine for me.

Also a trick that works wonders for me in my heavy escort carrier or MVAE in CSE is to position myself beneath the cube outside its weapons range and take out the nano probes without any cube fire. Once the raptor and neg'vhar appear than I deal with them and than finish the probes. I than move to the next cube and than the last(I can take care of entire drydock with this method). By that point, someone would have already taken out one cube thus spawning two squadrons of raptors. Deal with the raptors than destroy the second cube. Fight off the third cubes raptors and neg'vhars than take out the last cube. This is the strategy I've used when someone ignores the 10% rule. But its important that all cubes probes are destroyed. So far its worked the last 4 times. Optionals are of no concern in CSE. Keeping the Kang alive is!

I took a break between Season 3 and Season 5, and when I came back, I noticed that all npcs have vastly increased torpedo damage.

Borgies, rommies, klinkies, everything.

It used to be that firing at the plasma torpedoes that a D'Deridex fired was a waste of damage since they didn't do much more than dent your shields. Now it'll blow up a full shield facing and half of your hull (if it's level appropriate)! Mog~

Borgies just magnify this to the highest level.

However, NPCs tend to be a lil slow on the pewpew.. they don't seem to mount many weapons and fire somewhat slowly as a result. Maybe they're trying to look a lil more canon?

I think Cryptic should reduce the damage of individual shots, and just make them shoot more often to maintain DPS. That way, you'll have some warning other than the respawn button that a cube or (especially) gateway is mad at you..

if u stay above or below the cube it cant fire a torp at u , i can solo borg cubes without dieing........(not tac cubes just the reg ones) and im in a escort...

You should always use three parts BORG in your builds as this gives yous FREE shield and FREE hull heal makes you much more tanky.

Always run the highest weapon power you can

I put all my chars in this build for STF, Sci . Tac and Enginner , it's very powerful and very tanky you'll rarely die and kill everything quickly

Basically any ship type if you use two tac teams running constantly with two emergancy power to shields running constantly you are very hard to kill, this build also has transfer shields to top the shield heals up and AUX to sif to heal hull and Hazards too

No matter what your character class the best ship to run STFs in is an escort as it is all about how quickly you can do damage

Another top tip

The Kang does not balance it's shields , so when it's being attack cast one of your tac teams on it as well as a shield heal, even just a tac team will make it far more durable (tac team auto balance your shields amazingly fast which make it one of the most powerful skills in game)
