# 1 2000 Cp

Over the summer, I plan on grinding STFs and dailies to get enough dilithium to trade for 2000 CP. However, I am at an indecision as to what to get with the CP. Here's the three I'm torn between (Please note that I'm a tac captain):

1) Akira Retrofit: I've always liked the Akira class, and I liked the idea of a VA level Akira. This one doesn't seem too different than the Fleet escort I currently run, just with a hangar and the photon torp point defense console.

2) Tactical Odyssey: I know, it's been described as a whale. But, after playing in a KDF Cruiser for awhile, I've found that, while slow and having low DPS, I'd have to say that I enjoy a "Beamboat" as much as I do an escort. Also, I enjoy the aesthetics of the Odyssey, and have a perfect name for it based off of a flagship in my own sci-fi universe idea. (Also, Dragon Flagship?)

3) Assault Cruiser(Sovereign)+2xReSpec Tokens+Delta Shuttle+To'Duj Fighter: I like the Sovereign, and think it's a good ship that I could easily and quickly get without having to spend money. Also, again, Dragon Flagship.
The ReSpec Tokens are for my Fed and KDF Toon, which I kinda messed up on skill wise. See, I thought that as a Tac or an engineering captain, I would need to focus more in tac and engineering skills respectively. And by focus, I mean max out. Yeah, I SERIOUSLY need to respec.
The Delta Shuttle is, arguably, the best fed shuttle in the game, and the To'Duj fighter looks to be the only good kdf shuttle/fighter of the three available.

Over time, I could probably grind enough to get all of these and more (though it would take forever), but what do you think I should get first?

P.S. Silver player here.

That's pretty much a personal decision... all your examples have reason enough on their own...

Which one do you like the most... would be my answer.

I love my Ops Oddy. The saucer separation gives you an extra phaser, AND without the extra mass, it turns on a dime.

Don't forget the Science Odyssey. Only cruiser with Sensor Analysis. Over a long battle, that will overcome the advantage of the Tac Oddy's extra tactical console.

What are your classes and what style do you like to play as? You say you've played both styles, so you know how different they can be. And I want to be a third voice saying that if you decide on an Odyssey, the Tac version is the worst of the three.

Shuttles are low prioitry, and there are better things to do with 400 points. The Delta is barely slightly better than a Danube, and there aren't many shuttle missions anyways. If you're wanting to make every point count, there are much better things than shuttles.

Additionally, you may want to consider spending your first 500 C-points on an extra pair of character slots. Even if you don't use them to play with, thats twice as much refining capability, twice as many officer reports you can file, twice as many Midterms to take, and twice as much contraband you can turn in (collected via Klingon doffing). They pay for themselves in short order, and with 4 characters I pull 100 c-points a day.

Also, you may want to add the EC-limit-increase to your shopping list. Once you get really going, especially on selling STF loot and other high-end stuff, that 10-million mark goes from way-off-in-the-distance to a painfully low cieling.

Lastly, if you've got $12 to spare and you decide you want stuff like bank space and the like, the Collectors Edition is that cheap on Amazon, and will unlock a bunch of extra storage and another character slot for you, plus 400 c-points and the Red Matter Capacitor.

Tactical human starfleet officer who mainly uses escorts, and a Klingon Engineering officer who uses cruisers.

Why is the Tac Odyssey the worst of the three? I wouldn’t know what to do with an extra sci console (though I could use the workbees and the other stuff mentioned), and I’ve heard the eng odyssey’s saucer separation, and saucer separation in general, is a bad idea for use in STF’s and PVP.

Plus, I could always use the Dragon Flagship build on the Tac Odyssey.

Eh, I wanted something better than the danube so I wouldn't continually die during shuttle missions (unless dying is just normal overall in STO). Plus, the KDF has a limited selection of shuttles, and it seemed the To'Duj was the only good one.

…Maybe. It would shorten the time to get 2000 CP. I would prioritize the respect tokens first though, so I could fix my existing characters before I get new ones.

I honestly don’t know what I’d even get with more than 10m EC. All of the Anti-Proton stuff is less than 10m EC on the exchange. I guess I could save up for a Galor, Marauder, or a Jem’Hadar ship, but I’m not quite as interested in those. (Though the Jem Bug looks like an escort on steroids).

I won’t be able to get the special edition right away due to some intense expenses this month, but I’ll think about it.

after all the people on these bords complaining about spending money for stuff, Your the first I have seen whos' saying "I'm playing the game for free, and making my spending money on My time that I use to play theGame I want to play." Good for You. I sorta thought thats the point of F2P. I agree on the others posting here, More Charactors mean more Dilithium, more Di means more CSP, more things you can perchase with your Work. Now Please donot confuse Game time with Real work. You've chosen to play STO, and turn that into more fun for you. This should be a sticky for everyone who cries about how the Owners of Crpt always try and take us paying subscribers for a ride.
