Welcome to the sign ups and information thread of the 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 Space-PvP Leagues!
After getting some interest in these formats in a previous thread I've decided to start up these leagues and give it all a shot. Now for clarification, I'm announcing the creation of three independent leagues for players to compete in against each other. All players are welcome to sign-up and compete and players will be able to compete in all three leagues at once.
While each league will have some rules specific to it (such as maximum time length and kill scores) but there are a number of general rules that will apply to all leagues. Additionally all players are requested and required to join the new channel LeaguePvP for coordination, match results, and so as to not clog up OPvP with our fun .
For ease in finding the info you're looking for, use Ctrl+F with the following: GR (General Rules); L1 (1v1League); L2 (2v2 League); L3 (3v3 League)
---------------------------------
Current League status: All Sign-ups are closed until further notice
1v1: Season 2
2v2: Season 1
3v3: Season 1
--------------------------------- GR
General Rules:
All ship types and character classes are welcome
Consoles
Any ship restricted console, such as Flagship consoles, Saucer Sep, Federation Cloaking, etc. are allowed
All consoles that can be used universally on any ship are prohibited from use without exception (their use will result in a forfeit by said player/team)
All matches will have maximum time limits, the length of which is specific to each league
All matches are required to have at least one official observer present to ensure fair play and enforce rules
Observers will screenshot the results of a given match then submit it, said screenshot is considered the official results upon being submitted
Matches without observers will not be counted
League Format
All Leagues will run on a Seasonal Schedule
Within the Schedules, no players/teams are eliminated upon loosing
Players/Teams will have a schedule of matches to play based on the length of the season
The Entire Schedule will be released prior to the start of the season, and be assembled once sign-ups are closed
Position/ranking for the season will be based on a win/loss/tie format
A Win counts for 1 points
A Loss counts as 0 point
Tie games count as .5 of a win
Season length is determined according to the size of the given league but will range anywhere from 4-12 weeks, and at the end of each season there will be a playoff to determine the Season's champion.
2v2 and 3v3
As said above, players can compete in all three leagues at the same time, however they cannot be on more than one team within a given League.
Teams are not restricted to a player's fleet, any player may be on any team.
In an effort to prevent zombie matches, teams in the 2v2 and 3v3 Leagues much meet a ship-point calculation to qualify for play (more as you read on).
------------------------------------- L1
1v1 League Rules:
Matches are to 5 kills, first person to reach 5 kills is the winner
Matches can last a maximum of 20 minutes (enforced by the observer)
If time limit is reached then the match ends and the player with the highest score wins (unless score is tied)
Matches can go no more than 5 minutes without combat (enforced by the match's observer)
If a match goes longer than 5 minutes without combat then the match ends with the player that refused to engage forfeiting the match
Players can request an AFK for real life issues, if this occurs then the game clock is stopped while player(s) are away; attacks on the AFK player will cause the match to end with the attacking player forfeiting the match. Furthermore, the AFK player must announce that they're back and have it acknowledged by all before they attack, or they will forfeit the match.
Information
In an effort to let people know what they're getting into, all participants are required to give out the ship type that they're using as well as the Character Class when they sign up for the season
Players can have one alternate setup as well and are not required to tell which ship/class combo that they are using
Baring extenuating circumstances such as major balance patches, players cannot change their combos once the season starts
Players are not required to give out any build, equipment or spec information; only the ship type and character class
Ships:
The Siphon Carriers (Carriers with siphon pods in both hangar slots) are banned from use in the 1v1 League
----------------------------------- L2
2v2 League Rules:
Matches are to 8 kills, first team to reach 8 kills is the winner
Matches can last a maximum of 30 minutes (enforced by the observer)
If time limit is reached then the match ends and the team with the highest score wins (unless match is tied)
Matches can go no more than 5 minutes without combat (enforced by the match's observer)
If a match goes longer than 5 minutes without combat then the match ends with the team that refused to engage forfeiting the match
Teams can request an AFK for real life issues, if this occurs then the game clock is stopped while player(s) are away; attacks on the AFK team will cause the match to end with the attacking team forfeiting the match. Furthermore, the AFK team must announce that they're back and have it acknowledged by the observer and other team before they attack, or they will forfeit the match.

Team Setups
As mentioned in the GR section, all team setups for the 2v2 League must meet a point calculation to qualify for competition, meaning that each ship has a point value attached to it and the combined total of those points cannot exceed the point limit. For the 2v2 League the point total is 9, and the values are as follows:
------------------------------- L3
3v3 League Rules:
Matches are to 10 kills, first team to reach 10 kills is the winner
Matches last a maximum of 40 minutes (enforced by the observer)
If time limit is reached then the match ends and the team with the highest score wins (unless match is tied)

Observers:
Those who wish to be considered to become official observers should PM me here or in the game, if you are approved to be one then you'll be listed here and made an operator in the LeaguePvP channel.
*Note that since observers can also compete in the leagues, you will only be approved to be an observer if you have a history of being impartial and can be unbiased in matches while enforcing the rules. If you cannot be impartial then observer/operator status will be denied/revoked without hesitation.
Current Observsers: (more pending)

The 1v1 brackets are almost done, sorry for the delay but with an odd number of people I've had to do a lot of moving around to get stuff to work properly.
However, there are not enough teams from the 2v2 and 3v3 leagues currently to have a good competition (6 and 3 teams respectively) so I'm extending the Season 1 sign-ups for those leagues by 1 week to 8:00 pm eastern next saturday night.
