Once you rank up, the NX class becomes practically useless. It really makes buying the bundle/ship a waste. I was very excited last time I received payment to buy it, but was disappointed when I learned of how weak it was (I am level 50).

I believe that all C point paid ships that are bought at lower levels, should scale with player level, and become equal with the ship level of the player. This would include weapon slots, hull plating, and pretty much anything such as turn rate and abilities. For example, the NX class would scale with escorts, and the Constitution would scale with Cruisers. I think this would be fair to justify the prices of the ships.

Is this a fair suggestion?

I'd like a T3 version of the NX spaceframe, in a more "2409" style. (see Intrepid vs Bellerophon). I'd also like to see a T5 Exeter/Excalibur. (disallow us the Constitution parts if it makes CBS happy, I'm fine with that, I just love that shape!)

That doesn't have a lot to do with my post, but okay.

I just feel if the game is going to offer the ship for ACTUAL money, that it should at least be useful to higher level players.

As little as the connie makes sense getting a t5 version and competing with 25th century ships, the nx makes even less sense. A 350 year old ships going toe to toe with modern tech is kinda insane.

You get a ship that is better than the starter ship in almost every way, the grappler console which you can still use, and the multiple uniform packs. If you don't think they are worth what they cost then don't buy them...or save up your dilithium.

As the shipyard description says the NX-01 is a replica which means the same ship built with 25th Century tech.

If they wanted it they could make a beefed up NX-01 heavy escort instead... but oh wait! NX-01 -> Akira -> Armitage

I don't know if this is in game since I'm not currently playing, but this came from the wiki

The NX Class Starship Replica sports the classic look of Earth's starships from the 22nd century, but has been updated with modern technology to meet current Starfleet specifications for Lieutenant-rank missions.

It shouldnt be to hard to make an old model ship up to date. Historicaly, and in alot of games and books, high ranking captians have held on to older model ships and had them updated instead of moving to a newer model.

Here are some readymade excuses:
1. A captain with alot of influence commissions a new ship baised on an old hull design.

2. A private company willing to build fully modern ships to any design for the right price.

3. "Weaker" ships being retroft to handle the harsher reality of a hostile galaxy.

4. Old ships of the "mothball fleet" being refit and pressed into service to handle the growing demands of war.

A ship hull is just a skin(armor aside), its the tech that makes it advanced. You could make a giant Saturn V rocket and fill it with enough tech to match a borg cube.

Also, the vulcan D'Kyr is FAR older than the NX but is still a T5 ship. Sure, it was more advanced to begin with, but it must have been upgraded given that is can use transwarp.

T5 ships are free! I got my assault cruiser with a ship token, that was free when I reached rear admiral!

The paid T5 ships however, are not free.
