I only recently tried STO out and must say that i am hooked!

Still i do have a question, i know the game is F2P but i came accross the game in a store so was wondering if i buy that one if it will give me any benefits other than the ingame items?

Depending on which version it was that you saw in store*.

The standard pack would still give you an activation code which starts a one-month Gold subscription.

* The collectors edition, for example, contained in-game goodies (console) and physical goodies (metal comm badge).

I have seen those two as well as the digital edition?!

Not sure which one i really want, it does seem strange to me to buy the CE for a game that is free to play/download...

Back when those were released, the game wasn't f2p.

I am not really new to STO, been on the forums since years to be honest just never got around to playing the game!

So other than the ingame items there is no real benefit if i buy the boxed version i take it?

Teh game activation codes give you 30 days of Gold Account status with all of the benefits. And anything that you gained above the Silver Account feature you retain when you revert back to Silver status.

Hehe, i'll keep that in mind whenever i get enough 'o fighting...i may even assign one of my duty officers to start mopping!
