I was trying to do the Vault Event today, and I ended up in a queue that would fill up, and then wait for the host to start.
... Five minutes later I am still waiting for the host to start.
So I leave the queue and re-join. Oh no. Its the same host as before.
Everyone else in the queue is raging at this guy, telling him to start the match, and he is ignoring all of us. I sat in the queue for over 20 minutes and finally reported him for griefing everyone doing the event.
First off, I can't add the guy to ignore because it only shows your captain's name in the event queue. There aren't any @handles on there so I can't ignore the guy since I don't know his account name.
Secondly, WHY don't we have a votekick option? One griefer ruined half of a whole one-hour event for every single player trying to finish the event at that time. How is this even allowed to happen?

The event queue system is heavily bugged, chances are it wasn't even the person you are mad at.
But I don't agree, vote kick systems are usually very stupid, people find stupid reasons to kick people. IE: In Mass Effect 3 I get kicked because of my score, regardless of the fact that I am well geared and able to do xyz difficulties. But /logic fails elitists, so this vote kick system will only encourage elitism and trolls. The two generally go in the same category.
I'm not a fan of "vote to kick"... that kind of system tends to be easily abused. For example, you go into Federation Fleet Alert. You have four Vice Admirals and a Captain.* The four Vice Admirals kick the Captain before the game even begins. Why? The Captain isn't level 50 and "won't do enough damage."
There are people who will do that, as well as people who will vote to kick others for exceedingly silly reasons. "He killed more guys than me." "I don't like his ship." We don't need another way for players to be abused for these reasons.
*I've gone into matches like this on tactical. Luckily on the last one I was doing enough damage that the team decided to keep my escort healed as much as possible.

Yes I would happily kick the Captains the Lieutnants Commanders and the Lieutnants out, but until this happens I will just leave the event.
Low levels joining I consider borderline-griefing because they are just leeching of the work of the others and make it harder for everyone to complete the event.

This logic completely baffles me. You leave a game because someone who's allowed to play it is there? But you think the low level player is the one griefing? Aren't you the one intentionally making things more difficult by leaving?
We don't have any control over how the game queues players. If you don't like lower level players coming into "your" game, make a private match.

heh...now I know why there were only four of us-me and three low-rankers the other night in a Fleet action that has a minimum of 5...
BTW, we had a grand time, but losing that fifth ship before the fight even started didn't help matters.
the point of PUGging isn't fleet marks, or Dilithium or Drops, it's PLAYING the GAME...at one point, YOU were a Lt. or a Cdr., or a Capt., at one point, some elitist douche probably whined about YOU being underfoot.
You don't like the random nature of PUGs with no control over what "quality" (and I use the term LOOSELY) your team is? Fine, if you can find five people who will hang with you, you should run as a team, or stick to Private instances, or rank-limited events-where you can be among your Peers (if they'll have you.)
The real test of skill isn't having everything under ideal circumstances, it's adapting to difficulties and still triumphing. if you can't handle a Starbase Incursion, Starbase Defense, Blockade, or other Fleet-mark event without being surrounded by only L50 or better armed out with bleeding edge STF gear, you're not the top dog you THINK you are.
I'll take a Lt. Jr Grade in a Miranda over a guy like you on my team any day, under any circumstances-because said LTJG is a hell of a lot more likely to at least TRY to contribute, instead of whining and stomping off.

This person is exactly why we dont need a vote kick in the game... making a song and dance about a few lowbies being in with you,and then exhibiting immature behaviour, he or she penalizes everybody.
