I was fighting Romulans tonight when, while fighting a Warbird, I came across an unusual power. My ship turned purple, I had difficulty moving, and the debuff looked like it was for engines and auxiliary. It also made a strange noise I've never heard. It also went on for 2-3 seconds, faded for 2-3 seconds, and came back for another 2-3 seconds.
Was this viral matrix? or something else?
Edit: encountered it again. the noise was like a computer scrambiling mesh like noise, and this time, It seemed to just mess around with random systems. I think it's viral matrix, but I'm not sure.
That's the new Viral Matrix; it isn't a probe like it used to be...it's a beam-deployed power that disables random subsystems for a few seconds.
They usually hit you with that right before they launch their heavy plasma torpedoes, so you're sitting there drooling on yourself when the Romulan care packages arrive.
