If you have purchased a Legacy or Starter Pack, please see this thread for instructions on how to claim your items in-game. (Please see the yellow text in the linked thread for instructions on creating a Reman.) (Not seeing your pack in-game? Please see the lime-green text in the linked thread above for information.)
If you have additional questions about the Legacy or Starter pack, please read this FAQ.
Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
No, but they should care more about the player's concerns.
I think the team are doing a superb job to be quite honest. Granted I've had a moan myself from time to time, but those were trivial issues. The problem with a lot of people is that they want a game specifically for themselves; something that they're not going to get.
The development team for STO have a wide audience to please; all of which want different things out of this game. The team has to make the most of what they've got, whilst at the same time pleasing everyone. I doubt that is an easy task.
Sometimes it feels as though they don't care about us in the sense that they know some of the things we'd like to see, yet when questions are asked about them, we don't get any response. There have been various comments regarding the customization of unique Bridge Officers (unanswered by Cryptic), there are countless bugs that have still not been addressed, there is the issue with the Benzite Bridge Officer (I believe a problem since launch; Cryptic haven't done anything about it yet, and don't comment when the question is asked).
It sometimes feels as though they're only interested in showing us what they're achieving next, rather than fixing the achievements that they've already got in place. On the whole though, I'd say I was satisfied with STO in it's current status. Sure there is a lot of grind to be had, but they can hardly make it easy to acquire the elite gear else every other player would have it and it wouldn't feel that special. We're suppose to be earning this gear, not have it handed to us on a silver plate.
Yes they should. More fun, more balancing, less grinding please!
It isn't an accurate representation of what I want but it's the closest there; what I really want is:
1: More balancing, Science is at the point where only a few ships are playable and their powers worthless (for the most part), Escorts can tank well enough to kill elite borg gateways and tac cubes yet cruisers can't bring a similar level of damage meaning that any tac/scort can defend more than any eng/cruiser can damage... this is balanced?
2: More content that is not a grind or chasing space rabbits... thus more fun
Other than these the game is ok, fix these and we will be looking at the game as it was at F2P but with more content
Thanks for taking the time to make the poll. As a suggestion, after a set period of time create a new thread with the results but link back to this thread. That way the results will have a thread title that will be more relevant.
Oh, and I voted. :-)
On a personal note, adamfekei, I noticed you're flying a Fleet Science Retrofit. I tried it but the low hull and shields just hamstrung me. How do you get around that?

And yes, I will start a thread with the results in a few days.

I'm generally satisfied with the game and the direction in which it's being developed, but my biggest concern is pretty much this ^^
Unfortunately, the game is increasingly DPS oriented, making (in my view) science ships and cruisers much less desirable. A lot of existing and new gameplay that is released, focuses on dealing as much damage as possible in a short amount of time, making escorts the most likely choice for most PvE and PvP missions. I would sure love to see more balance as far as that's concerned, in the immediate future.
I always like putting in a plug for ship and fleet holdings interior development and customization. Another Belfast style ship interior would really make me a happy Z-Store shopper Otherwise, all is generally well Ooo... and general server stability improvements.. the bank UI has been really sluggish lately, again.
Concerning customer satisfaction... I was going to cancel my Xbox membership a while back because the price was to high, so I called CUSTOMER SERVICE and talked with them. Long story short they were very friendly and kind and gave me another year 70% off . In my book they got a A+. I have sent multiple tickets into PWE and I have been waiting months for a response and never will I ever get to actually talk to someone.. PWE rating in my book F.
So in closing.. Please PWE.. Help your player base, you keep making us your enemy and you drive people away with no customer support. I was a gold at one point but I canceled because I didn't want to fuel such blatant disregard for for us players. :S
I do not like polls. They do not accurately reflect my opinions, and due to their very nature of being in a 'multiple guess' format, provide contrived results that give very limited insight into any given issue.
For example: Poll results that show 57% of people are unhappy mean little when the poll was a simple "are you happy? Yes or No" question.
They mean even less depending on the number of people who bothered to answer. Happy players might not even know about your poll as most happy players are too busy playing the game and are not here complaining. My experiences with MMORPG message boards is that people only come here when they have something to complain about, and not very often when they are happy and content.
Your sample group is therefore going to be flawed in that it will certainly have a disproportionate number of unhappy players drawn to it.
You will need to take those factors into account when analyzing your results.
And, if this is an accurate representation - meaning it truly is a random sample representing the total population - more than 50% of players, at least at the time I voted, do not feel the game is being handled well and want changes to restore balance and fun and much less grind.
Here's hoping the devs actually pay attention - I am sure the PWE Approval Rating poll that was emailed out come back with far less than satisfactory marks...
