Hi Captains!

I am organizing an in-game (Holodeck) Community Vault Shuttle Event for this coming Thursday.

The first timeslot will be at 6pm GMT/ 10AM PST/ 1pm EST. (Click here to view in your time zone)

The second timeslot will be at 6pm PST/ 9pm EST/ 2am GMT. (Click here to view in your time zone)

These timeslots line-up with the in-game Vault Shuttle hourly event and will allow participants to gain bonus Romulan Marks upon completion!

Let's plan to meet in orbit of New Romulus. From there, we'll create as many queues as we can to run the event. Feel free to attend with a character of either faction, but the minimum level requirement is 50. Please join the REDALERT channel to see any instructions/ communication from myself. Type this command in your chat bar to join the channel: /channel_join redalert

If you can't make it Thursday, I would like to try and do these often, and on different days/ times. Feel free to post constructive feedback in here with ideas, including if you would like to see this expanded to other types of events (STFs, Fleet Actions, PvP, Foundry, etc.).

Hope to see many of you Thursday!

Cheers,

Brandon =/\=

Brandon, as much as some of us would love to attend this event, unfortunately, there is an ongoing series of "shuttle bugs" that has been prevalent since the launch of Season 7 - the new Default Shuttle Selection "feature".

Thus for those of us that are trying to avoid this very annoying bug from affecting us, we have purposely not equiped our shuttles or deleted them until the bug is fixed.

Here are just a few of the threads about the issues...

I can keep going on and on. And I suspect a lot of people may not even notice this bug until they do a shuttle mission such as the Vault.

Its very frustrating, and I fear that come May, you may force us to use shuttles in a new FE episode or mission while this bug is not fixed. It affects everything from the names on our ship decals, to player info, to having difficulty in repairing our ship in STFs when the UI thinks your ship is the shuttle.

This should serve as a warning to any player who may attend this event, and a reminder to Cryptic that this bug is still out there, and needs to be fixed.

I have to say Brandon, you are pretty lucky in this regard...I hardly ever use my shuttles, but nearly every single time I do, I experience some of the issues listed above; same with many of my fleetmates. Strangely enough, I have the most trouble with my Aeon timeship; if it weren't for the fact I can't reclaim it, I probably would have deleted it as well. Until then, I'm also avoiding shuttle content.

But I am glad this is being investigated. Thank you! When its fixed, I'd love to see more things to do with said shuttle.

I never have a problem with my timeship/flyer/type10 when doing vault event. the only "problems" I've encountered are that the login screen lists my shuttle as my default ship (even though it's my default shuttle, it's not my primary ship) and that issue with the STF's when you are trying to repair. While the STF thing is slightly annoying because you actually have to do some extra clicking (gods forbid), by the time I'm done, the death cool down timer has just finished and I can respawn to get back into the fight.

The problem is not only technical shuttle bugs but also a general lack of incentive for playing the Vault Shuttle Event. Considering its "relatively" high difficulty, the reward of merely 15 Romulan Marks is much too low.
Furthermore, failing in the first, second or third room will cause the entire mission to fail without ANY rewards. The only other situation where you can fail a Romulan mission is the first phase of Vault: Ensnared, however its difficulty is in no way comparable to that of the shuttle event.
I therefore propose to reward at least 10 Romulan Marks immediately after finishing each room, totaling 30 marks.

I've already posted that before:
http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/sh...d.php?t=514091

OR: Take the Romulan missions and give them a STF-like mini-overhaul in terms of splitting them into a normal version (slightly easier than now) and an elite version (harder than now).

Update! The above stated that the event is in the REDALERT channel -- this is correct, but the instructions to join the channel listed a different channel. It's been corrected We'll be chatting in the REDALERT channel for both timeslots of this event.
