I am still like 8 levels away from this but figured to start asking around.
I am planning to get a Vo'quv Carrier to use when I hit BG and want to know how to get the best out of it.
I am partly thinking to use GW3 and SS2 and than Shield and Hull healing abilities with mines or beams/cannons abilities.
I am reading the forums but opinion seems mixed as far as the whole deal with the ship goes.
I've been using the vo'quvs on scis for over 2 years now. Basically there is some do's and don'ts when it comes to this ship. First rule of the every so is that it turns so slow you never really want to use your weapon slots for torpedoes but mines may be okay but I wouldn't recommend anything but beams on this ship. Along with no torpedoes is don't use any abilities that have a narrow arc like GW, Tykens Rift, Viral Matrix, Etc even npcs can stay out of your arc even with their not so smart AI. It mainly works with beams and pretty much your pets you choose you will most likely want to use ones that benefit the areas you cannot use like Bops and fighters mainly are your torpedoes.
The one thing that hasn't been nerfed into oblivion with this ship is the target shields 3, energy siphon 3, 2 bop hangar setup for killing stuff. That will usually drop your targets shields and then is followed by a 4 bops launching HY quantums at your shieldless target.
In all though its mostly a decent energy stealer for sci's and engineers make good tanks with it using it a similar way too eng only downside is if some sci sub nuc's it because its like an elephant with a lampshade. You can try out the field of ideas and stuff on the forums but I doubt you'll find any more beneficial than the shield strip/bop pet HY for this ship.
Youll not be disappointed I don't know what forum you've been reading this thin does everything haha
I've Been having great succes with single cannons and turrets with dem works a treat in both pvp and pve(using dem in tandom with apa is optimal) but sensor scam should work the same
For pvp you'll want plenty of holds
For pve I normally go for a tachyon beam CPB then unleash ABOPS works a treat
Turning is not this ships forte so stik up on deuterium engine batteries and maybe APO and you'll be fine especially in pve I have a switch out of dhcs incase the optional is going pair shaped and you need death real fast(impossible pvp)
Yes my setup doesn't make use of subsystem targeting but unless your building around that (drain build, shutdown build) then it's not that much of a miss
In my sci I find my hull disintegrating compared to my engi don't know wether this is just me! So instead of TSS I run 2 copy's of hazards and try and get engi team or aux to Sid in there too
----=====This is my opinion you don't have to listen and no one else has to read them these "OPINIONS" are based on my exploits and my learning other people will have their opinions and that's fine just don't knock my way of doing things thanks=====----
