# 1 Confusion over qualification
03-22-2013, 12:54 AM
Does anyone know for sure exactly what does and what does not get a mission to qualify for rewards. Initially I assumed it was the same thing that got it out of review phase, but my mission is out of review but still does not qualify (Despite being ~30mins long doing the quickest options on all sections and skipping through dialogue, closer on an hour otherwise.). I edited it after the first review I received so I assumed maybe that resets the qualification, but yesterday I noticed someone had a mission in review with no written reviews and 2 ratings that *did* qualify for rewards.

So at this point I'm completely lost. Especially as qualifying for rewards seems so much more protected that releasing the content, which seems completely backwards. As I understood it the review process was to make sure the content was not offensive or breaching Cryptic's EULA or their licence agreement for the IP. Having this easier to pass than who gets rewards would indicate it is preferable to have their licence breached and offensive material reaching the masses than it is for a mission to incorrectly give out rewards. It also leaves missions, like mine, in that odd ground where it is no longer being reviewed (so not likely to be picked up by reviewers) yet not giving rewards (so unlikely to be played by non-reviewers).

Can anyone shed some light on this? Maybe I'm just being dense.

If it has an average playtime of over 15 mins, you still need about 20 plays to get it to qualify. You have to beg your friends to play it.

What kirksplat said. Plus a couple things.

A) Republishing shouldn't reset anything. It doesn't alter the reviews/plays you've gotten.

B) There's always the possibility that the qualification process isn't working properly.

Ahh, fair enough. Is there any way to view the number of plays as opposed to just the number of reviews?

I guess I'll just be bugging my fleet for a while

Tangled Webs is at close 100 reviews and it still re-flagged, allegedly taking zero minutes to play, so yeah... at least some missions are not getting correctly recorded for time.

If I'm not mistaken, even if your missions do qualify for rewards, your own toons won't be eligible for those rewards. Indeed, the only Foundry missions I've seen listed as not eligible for any rewards are, you guessed it, the ones that I wrote, even though they are comparable in length or longer to other missions I've played that are. So, if you're looking at your own missions' listings from within your own account and seeing that they are not eligible, that's probably why.

I've noticed that there are several foundry missions when you search by language: French, stars: none to two stars, you'll find several missions that have one click to start and one click to finish. All of these missions are currently qualified for the full 1,440 dilithium and xp / diplomatic xp. One can queue up 20-30 of these missions at a time and accrue 50,000 to 60,000 dilithium in one go.

Assuming that the wait time between the clicks averages out to 2 hours is the only explanation I can figure for these (obvious exploits) to be qualified for rewards. I've also noticed that they are all reviewed by exactly 5 people, who each gave them 1 and 2 stars for an average just below 2.

I post this information here, because it seemed like the only relevant thread. Reviewing and reporting the vast number of these missions is beyond my purview. The foundry's qualifications appear to be broken, and people are exploiting it, thus destroying the dil->zen market and any relevance to the difficulty of leveling up a starbase's tiers.

Yes..but who in their right mind would try and figure out 1) what the mission says while translating it to english. and 2) where to go after said translation....while it does sound like a massive way to gain dilth it doesnt do any good because you still have to refine it all.

I took a look and saw quite a few missions with the same text and it was hurting my brain trying to translate it lol

If I posted the location of the start and end triggers on an open forum, I would be as bad as those that created the missions. Unrefined or not, most players would give their left eye to not ever have to run dilithium missions again, or turn in contraband. Regardless of whether you translate it or not, you don't have to read to notice what they're used for and know that this is a major break in the game.

There's no excuse for someone doing in 5 minutes dishonestly (50,000 dilithium) what takes most players several days if not a week doing things honestly.
