So, is it me, or is this map pretty much designed exclusively for escorts? The things that aren't DPS races are actual races, chasing those weavers around...

Really sucks to play it in a slow ship.

Let me just say this... cruiser class ship (ok?) -> (mostly its just lt tactical) Beam: Fire At Will; or if you are using cannons Cannon: Scatter Volley... AND if you have the option available use Torpedo Spread.

PS: Note: I have written all the bridge officer ability's in full so you can understand what I am trying to say.

I have been doing that stf in my marauder FDC (Patrol Cruiser).
I have 2 distinct loadouts; one is beams/1 dbb and torpedoes, another is all cannons/turrets + torpedoes.

Oh, did I mention that that was a stupid question??? I have?

I have a better question:

Has anyone actually FAILED it? You know, let the Vault get stolen? Even with the most unorganized Pugs, I've never seen it come all that close. Almost want to get a group together just to fail it.

Not by intent. But I had a run that, after a minute, I realized the four other players had buggered off and left, so it was one HEC trying to chase down all the weavers.

SPOILER (for what it's worth):
When the net would hit 100%, you get a cutscene where Obisek mentions that the Vault has some distateful but highly effective defenses. There is no web after the cutscene, though I didn't notice any specific weapon effects. I suspect thalaron shenanigans.

The final battle is the same: a battle group with a tarantula, a couple recluses, a few orbs, and small swarm of meshes; and a named tarantula.


And no, I don't know why I didn't leave when I realized I was alone. Stubbornness, I guess.

I frequently play it using my sci, in my Vesta class and do absolutely fine. Actually quite enjoy dumping GWIII on the vault-weavers - quite amusing to watch them dragged back along their own 'weave'. Have to say, the Vesta is especially useful here since (as with any ship with carrier abilities) can launch fighters to intercept the annoying mesh-weavers.

Have also played it, again with my sci, whilst flying my Fleet Rhode-Island (Fleet Science Vessel Retro), and love dumping tric mines in the paths of the Vault weavers -since they're on a 'set course' they just fly straight into their path and eat tric!

I play it in my Vo'Quv. In the first part it is important to leapfrog with the others on your side, and in the second part always try to work counter-clockwise.
