I currently fly a Mobius temporal destroyer, and was wondering what space set to go for. I just hit tier IV omega rep, and currently use the mk X assimilated set, which lets face it, at mk X isn't cutting it anymore.
I have enough money to buy the full Aegis set, or I can get mk XI omega, MACO or assimilated. I'd preferably not wait until tier V, as that will be an awful long while.
Weapons wise, I use 3 advanced fleet antiproton dual heavy cannons accx2 dmgx2, an advanced fleet antiproton dual beam bank accx2 dmgx2, and on the back 2 advanced fleet antiproton turrets accx2 dmgx2, and a cutting beam (I also have the assimilated module)
I've heard that the MACO shields are pretty hench, but I do like the tractor beam from the assimilated set, and the tetryon glider from omega looks cool, an-AAAARRGGGGH!
MACO shield is very nice for survival, and could simply be paired with your other Assimilated pieces, so that's the cheapest option to arguably enhance your performance. But really, the difference between Mk X and Mk XII for any set is tiny, so your Mk X Assimilated is practically a Mk XII Assimilated, which should get you through stuff readily enough. I'd save the resources until T5 Omega and then pick a final set and get it at Mk XII. AEGIS is in general inferior to any of the Omega rep sets, some people like it for particular capabilities it gives but as a rule it tends to be weaker, so I wouldn't bother with it.
I own both the XI and the XII Borg set and there is a good increase in hull strength (how much I can't recall now, but it is noticeable). The tractor beam is nice and does wonders with KCB. I have read but have yet to try the MACO shields and two piece Borg set. However, if your waiting to get the XII set (which I recommend in the end) I'd personally go for the AEGIS set itself as it improves with your level and should tie you over until you can get the XII kit from the rep system.
I do own the Mobius as my primary and yeah, its a great ship and the Borg set compliments it nicely.
EDIT: Don't forget the borg conoles and if torps are your thing, the Omega Torp; Borg Centric....

I have to say, you don't see many people using the Omega set. That's normally a sign xD
I drained all my resources into a Mk XII Omega set over the weekend as my first Mk XII space set after reaching T5. My main reason was it is the only set I've yet to really play with, since I've already used Borg, MACO and KHG in the past.
I actually really like it, perhaps because my ship build is ideally suited to it. As an engineer I can survive without the extra shield or hull strength other sets provide. The targeting bonus is handy since my main damage is in subsystem targeting attacks, as is the 2 set bonus since I use tetryon weapons exclusively. The shield is very good too, energy wake kicks in quite often and it recharges in no time at all.
So all in all I'm pretty happy with it, which is good since I'm not going to be able to afford another Mk XII set in sometime!
Honestly I'm happy with Mk11 on the STF sets, because on engines it only affects Full Impulse speed, on the deflector its a skill difference of I think 1.8 per skill (which is unnoticeable), and even on the shield its something like 97% the capacity. In exchange, once you add in the extra cost in marks and BNPs to the dil difference, the Mk12 ends up costing almost twice as much for such a tiny improvement. 12 is worth if you're the kind of player that needs to squeeze every last drop of performance out of your ship, but for general use, Mk11 works just fine.
For a Mobius, a solid combo is to use the MACO shield and Borg engine/deflector for the hull heal, or Omega engine/deflector for the tetryon glider and better turning. Full MACO is useful for maxed out tanking, but for a temporal destroyer its probably better to further emphasize your offensive strengths.
