plasmonic leech, assimilated console, rule 62 based on situation, tachyokinetic converter, zero romulan console and depending on situation, aceton assimilator, isometric charge.

but those are also based on ship.

Whilst I agree this is a great console/ability, it's better suited to the larger ships where manuverability is an issue. Never found it to be of much benefit on the smaller, agile, ships.

I would say the best Universal consoles are the

Borg Assimilated Universal Module
Zero Point Energy Conduit
Point Defense System
Isometric Charge

Others I have used seem to be more as useful but these are useful almost all the time

Since nobody has mentioned it, I'm gonna throw my vote down for the enhanced plasma manifold you get if you have the Oberth-class c-store ship. It's a nice little reusable double battery.

Hey, everyone else has already mentioned the borg console and the tachyowhatsis and the new romulus rep console...

i love how nobody actually read any of the previous posters suggestions,

really anything 'except' bioneural warhead can find a place.
oh 'n the photonic displacement isn't really all that useful unless you absolutely hAve to have another method of escape.

My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug.

On my Fleet Defiant, I always slot:
Assimilated Module
Tachyokinetic Converter

I will swap out cloak and another science console for the following (depending on what I'm doing):
Anti-Matter Spread
Subspace Jumper
Vent Theta Radiation

Consoles I'd like to pick up some day:
Resonance Cascade Modulator (Team Fortress)

The Zero-Point Energy Conduit is nice if you don't have high critical hit. If you already have a high critical hit, the Zero-Point Energy Conduit doesn't add a lot. And the power increase usually isn't enough to get worked up over.
