I recently leveled my KDF character to level 50 and have been using the Negh'var since level 40 (which I plan on using until they offer a retrofit C-store version). The only issue I've noticed is that when I visit the bridge of my ship there is no bridge viewscreen! The captain's chair just faces a blank bulkhead. I realize that this is the "default" Klingon bridge, but is this something that has been "overlooked" or do I actually need to purchase the C-store bridges to get one with an actual viewscreen? My Fed and Rom characters both have generic bridges with viewscreens so I assume this was an oversight? Unfortunately I can' t preview the other Klingon bridges and I'm not particularly interested in paying 400 Zen for the possibility of having a viewscreen on my bridge. Hopefully it's a "bug" that will eventually be addressed?

There is only one KDF bridge that looks like that and I think it's suposed to be that way.

However, you don't have to buy C-Store bridges just to have a viewscreen, during the leveling of your char. you open up more free bridges. Just visit the ship customization officer in the Qo'noS shipyard or Ganalda station and click on the "bridges" tab. It should open up all the Klingon bridges showing you which are availible for you to use and which ones you'd have to buy. There is a pretty ok selection of free bridges that you should have obtained at lvl 50 and all of them have a viewscreen.

Thanks for the quick reply! I had no idea that there were all those other bridge variants available as I haven't actually done any customization of my ship appearance yet. The standard versions only cost 1000 EC to change so that gives me lots of options.

I believe that bridge is based on one we saw in the TV or Movies where the Captain used a Periscope like device to view the battle.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001.
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.
When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.

Yup, that was my assumption as well. That's why I said that I think that bridge is without a viewscreen on purpose. Sometimes Cryptic do make a really good replicas from the shows.

Yeah, I thought of that as well and was hoping they had put a "periscope" mounted on the ceiling above the captain's chair, but they seem to have left this part out so it just ended up looking a little strange to stare at a blank bulkhead. It would be a nice feature if there was an animation where the gunnery periscope would descend when your captain sits in the command chair, but that might be expecting a little much at this point.

As a side point, are there any plans to allow you to fight from the bridge of your ship? I assume the functionality would be less useful than the third-person view, but I could still see the feature appealing to some players who want to be as "immersed" as possible in the game.

That bridge used to have a viewscreen, it just got bugged (I think it got relocated behind the wall). Similarily to the standard Fed bridge, you should just use another one.

periscopes were only used on the early Bop ships, most later bops and klink ships had view screens fitted, I think initialy the idea was that only the commander would view what was going on, but in the end this was a bit naff for the viewer watching the prgram so viewscreens came back, plus itsl also daft if your gunner cant actualy see what he/she is shooting at.

Let's see:
If you go in-universe chonology then and
-the early BoPs in "Enterprise" never showed a persicope, but a viewscreen.
-the BoP in Star trek 3&4 didn't have one either.
-the BoPs in St5 and 7 (which are 80 years apart) show a pericope AND a viewsreen.
-the BoP in 6 didn't have one, neither did any of the others

If you go out-of-universe then
-the BoP in Star trek 3&4 didn't have a persicope
-the BoP in St5 had one plus a viewscreen
-the BoP in St6 didn't have a scope but a viewsreen
-the one in St7 again had both
scopes were never seen outside the two movies

sorry but I'd like to know your definition of "early".
In addition,
(early, out of universe) the K't'inga in Star Trek 1 already had a visible viewscreen
and
(early in-universe) so did the D5 on "Enterprise".

well I have never seen a ship that has both, and I am going from memory, but I seem to remember spock using one for tactical, and I seem to recall several others in episodes using the periscope, however I could be wrong. Also I was refering only to bops, not cruisers, so how do they fit into your comment?
