I'm also seeing this. The patcher is probably being slammed right now. I did try to patch a little earlier this evening around 6 pm PST. I got a 58 MB patch, most of which I already had applied. I'm not sure if that is the correct patch or not or if that may be causing a problem.

Hopefully the issue is minor (Honestly, it probably is). The "My Account"/key information has been wonky all day. The authentication server is probably getting pummeled (or some other glitch occurred) and then proceeded to commit hari kari.
Same problem here too, i got my preorder code tonight from gamestop. I entered the code and it says im registered for beta and preorder, but didnt actually say anything about headstart. Im just assuming that preorder meant headstart...
