Yes but headstart should be just like live. They should have had more than enough servers to be ready for the influx of customers. As it is the servers were not prepared properly if they are this unstable and makes me wonder if they have enough. There are so many star trek fans out there that I am worried they do not have the server capacity for what they are going to get hit with.
When the game does run it is not half bad. What is bad is spending more time out of the game than in it not because I do not have the time but because they are down.
So far head start is exactly what live will be. I fully expect the servers to go down a lot during the first month of post launch development. People who don't expect that, never have been through a launch, and want WOW references....will **** and moan then will nerdrage across the internet.
I work for a Computer Co. It can take up to two months to configure a server and send it to the customer, after reading the Dev posts it sounds like they are getting there new server this week, and should have it up in a few days, since they ordered it mid Jan. it is a mircile that they recived it this fast.
LOL, its still not stable after months of closed and open beta......why would you think its gonna be better in 2 days???
Server stability will come in time. It will likely take them 1-2 months to do this; anything sooner should be a testament to the Cryptic Staff; anything more and they should review the productivity of their techs. Calm down people; the game will smooth out; just continue to play, provide feedback and bug reports and understand that launching an MMO that is based off an IP like this is going to bring in myriad people; all contributing to the problem while Cryptic has a set number of people working here that are trying to stave off the inevitable crashes that kind of load are going to cause.
