Hopefully this is on their radar ... but personally I'm expecting queues post-launch as well. It only makes sense. The numbers will always be highest right at launch. They don't want to make a huge investment only to be stuck with unnecessary machines a month from now. So they've got what they feel will be enough post-launch and we'll have to deal with it till then.

Personally, I'd like to see some rented machines in the meantime but that may not be part of the business model.

The exact opposite of that Mythic/EA did with waaaaaay too many servers and having to shave down to what is it? 4 now? Waiting does suck though!

I think that most of the people who would have rushed to the computer game stores to get copies of STO on launch day already have pre-orders and are taking part in (or attempting to take part in) Head Start. I don't think we'll see a huge rush on Tuesday, at least not much bigger than this weekend. Perhaps next weekend as the game goes more mainstream.

I do think we'll see much nerd rage about the pre-order stuff not working properly on Tuesday-Wednesday however.

Probably true. Though the bad reviews of how hard it is to actually get into the game servers may dampen the enthusiasm...

Of course there will be more...what makes you think everyone has a credit card and can afford to get it that way before launch. I love ST as much as the next person and was in the OB but havent got a CC...beleive me the numbers will jump a good bit come the 2nd..but will be even worse on the 5th when we in the EU get online....so if its bad on the 2nd...god help us come the 5th

I'm from Australia, so I have yet to see a queue and likely won't. Still, it makes sense for them to not get more servers to handle everyone at the moment. I guess if the queues are a sustained issue after a month, then they might do it.

awesome, and now the server is down.

Im really starting to get scared that this is going to be the rule rather than the exception. I mean so far there are so many negatives associated with his game and not too many positives outside of the game itself.

It's easy to dismiss issues as "its Open Beta' or "Its headstart" but it would be folly to suggest that these issues are going to magically fix themselves by tuesday morning.

The fact that there is little to no interaction from the Cryptic team on these forums suggests that they are not customer oriented. because even if you think that all the entitlement threads, and "I hate this game" Threads are invalid, from a business perspective that are loosing out on potential clients and even current clients by creating an image of a company that doenst care.

they certainly don't "Have to" upgrade their equipment to deal with a heavy demand to play the game, because as some have stated, they could loose alot of money if the demand dropped off. but how can you expect to have a successful game without taking that risk, its almost like shooting it in the foot developmentally and expecting it to still do well. creating any game is a risk, it can be canceled at any time, this title should know that better than most.

There are alot of people here who will tough it out just because its star trek, but there are just as many people who thought it was a cool looking game and wanted to play. but if they dont start addressing customer needs then I feel like this game is going to be doomed from the start.

Lots of people are not playing because they don't get their pre-order bonuses. I do play myself but I restrict my playing time until I get them.

The queues should go away after a week or two. It did that for ****(such a bad launch) at least.

I'm sitting here stroking my neckbeard and laughing evilly every time I think about the number of folks that are gonna melt the interwebz with their nerd rage.

Stand down old Q. Make way for the baddest villain of them all, Queue!
