We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.35.20131117a.20

General
  • Winter Event
    • Snowballs obtained from snow piles now properly list their expiration time as 1 hour (instead of 10 minutes). This is a display change only.
    • All Winter Event Duty Officer Assignments now reward 4 random Holiday Commodities on Success and 12 on Critical Success (instead of zero or 8, respectively).
    • Slightly increased the odds of receiving Uncommon Holiday Commodities from various sources.
    • Resolved an issue that was preventing belts to be an option for Red and Green jackets.
    • The correct picture now appears when the Shoman Boss in the Winter Wonderland is summoned.
    • Black, White and Brown Winter Jacket costume unlocks now display a correct icon instead of Earmuffs
  • Resolved an issue which was sometimes blocking progression in "Night of the Comet".
  • The PVE queue now has the ability to search for rewards including:
    • Nukara marks, Dyson marks, Dyson commendations, and Voth cybernetic implants.
  • Plesh Brek Winter Ship
    • Added a passive power that lets the captain know what Flanking does.
    • This appears in the passive powers list and will appear as a status buff icon while in a space map.
  • Fleet Tactician Trait:
    • Now properly applies to all players on the team.
    • Tooltip no longer lists the Turn Rate bonus twice.
    • Tooltip now lists an actual resistance value to Slow effects.
    • Updated item description - replaced "Immunity to Slow" with "Resistance to Slow".
    • Benefits gained from Driver Coil skill were reduced.
  • Dyson Tier 4 Offensive Rep Ability "Tactical Advantage" no longer stacks, and will now only benefit damage from the owner of this ability.
    • As a side effect of this, it no longer displays a Debuff icon on the target.
  • The last time a fleet member logged out of the game has been re-added to the Status display.
  • Resolved some ship tailor issues with the Voth Frigate and Cruiser.
    • Resolved display name errors.
    • Removed Type 5 material.
    • Added Voth Type 1 material.

Known Issue:
  • Captains can get unlimited recipes from the present in Winter Invasion.

no faw fix yet. as usual, anything faw related takes several weeks to correct lol

Hrmm, wasn't there some middle-ground on this?

It's one thing to require 5 players to get a 5-stack...it was another where a single Sci could 5-stack all by themselves...or somebody with hangar pets being able to do it. It shouldn't have been passed along to pets (including targetable projectiles which are considered pets - you could 3-stack off the Romulan Hyper-Plasma Torp). Removing stacking all together though?

Or was the middle-ground already tested and found to be too strong?

Yet again PvPers crying has resulted in an ability that was some what useful in PvE being nerfed to the point that it is completely worthless. This was such a weak debuff to begin with the only way it could have any noticable effect was with multiple players stacking it. Pulling it off the pets stacking makes sense, not surprised that was done, but making it so players cannot stack is just plain pathetic.

Its strength in pvp is more important because we already ridiculously overpower npc's in pve. In this case pvp is doing pve a favor.

And you really need this overpower passive to kill a Borg cube? Finishing Infected Space in 2 minutes is that slow to you that you need a overpower passive?

This is not longer PVP vs PVE, is about having fun in this game not just complete nuke and obliterate NPCs with out them having a change to even know what hit them.
PVE also needs balance.. hell, the Borgs are the same NPCs that we killed when we were lvl 40 with green stuff!

What understanding (or lack of understanding) do you have in regard to how debuffs work?

Single "Stack" vs. 0 DR target, applies up to a +15% final damage modifier. Literally, final damage modifier - as resistance is the last thing that modifies damage.

Skills/Gear, Weapon Power, Abilities, Crit Severity...then modified by up an additional +15% at that point vs. a 0 DR target.

5-Stack vs. 0 DR target? That's up to a +71.4% final damage modifier.

Say we gave the target the equivalent of a VR Mk XII Neut?

Single "Stack" would reduce the damage lost from up to 16.6% to up to 6.2%...effectively up to a +10.4% increase in damage. 5-Stack? From that 16.6% reduction to a 33.1% gain, an effective increase in damage of up to 49.7%...

Work in more +DRR, work in more -DRR from debuffs - it's a fun to dork around with...well, for some folks.

The passing it along to pets and a single player being able to 5-Stack it...yeah, that screamed that something was wrong. One can see where that would have caused massive issues...was likely a bug, etc, etc, etc.

Even so, five players taking it and dropping it on a "boss mob" - well, one could see where Cryptic might still have issues with that because of how much of a boost it could provide those players to finish off what's supposed to be a "tougher mob". With much of that toughness being because of extreme health, well - that mob would be at 50% for a longer period of time than a normal mob, until you 5-stack and then it's just going to go down...

Wish they'd kept the LoR Beta Elachi, worked in some of what they did with the Voth, and spread that to the Tholians, the Borg, and all the rest. Sure, would need to create a "Casual" difficulty for many of the players - shuffle various other difficulty levels around, but the Advanced, Elite, and the rest could actually take on some meaning in the context of the sheer amount of power that exists out there. We've had multiple level cap increases in power without an increase in the level cap or difficulty of the mobs we face...meh.

Though, it can be fun to grab a tower in the AZ in a minimalist build - have to do more than lean on the spacebar while watching Trek on Netflix...

Really nice to see these fixes, I hope they don't break anything existing and will reach Holodeck ASAP!

If you needed that T4 ability to be capable in PvE, then I think the gene pool deserves your scorn, not the PvP Community.

Can I ask what happened to the 2012 Fleet Starbase hologram decoration? I ran past where it should be the other day and noticed it had gone. Our fleet had it before and we could switch it on & off at will, now no longer! Is that intended?

Its nothing about need, its about you and your kind making an ability that was some what useful in PvE completely worthless just so your small minority of players that give a **** about PvP don't have problems. Notice I did agree the pet stacking needed to be fixed. It was fun but obviously a bug. The nerfing is the removal of player stacks and was clearly done to appease you and your kind at the expense of everyone else.
