I'm working on a guide for cruisers, something to do while trying to log on.

One section I want to have in this guide is the impact of captain powers. Since I play an engineer primarily, I don't have much information on the impact and effectiveness of the unique science and tactical background space powers and their impact upon driving a cruiser.

So, I'm looking for some input from cruiser jocks who have the science or tactical background and how the background specific abilities (the ones you get at X8) impact cruiser play.

General idea as to the effectiveness of the powers, in teams, solo, fleet battles, whatever. Any strategies and weapon loads that go well with them. How you feel the inability to train the rank III engineering abilities impacts you. And so on.

Any thoughts from those with experience would be appreciated.
