Now that feds have both battle cloak and leech. Lets see how long it takes for both to get buffed.
Honestly, I'd say the rumors of the OPness of leech are greatly exaggerated.
The problem is a lot of people think it's the drain that's OP. Other than when it was broken last year for a bit, it's always been the gain. Getting +25 power to all systems w/synergy w/tet glider and polarons/tetryons is the OP part. At least raiders (which could make the most of it w/they're 3 sci slots, decent console slot layout) are squishy, have 1-2 less tac consoles, and use 1-2 less weapon slots (in some cases they'll have 1 less sci console slot).
It also negates the drawback of the Romulan BCs. They really should've capped the gain to 10 power and restricted it to Raiders.
The timing is what really is a surprise. Figured they'd given the KDF the summer w/leech b4 giving it to Feds to try and keep 1 of the few reasons to roll/ally KDF. Not surprising though it's a p2w game and Feds have the most payers .... er players.

Wow then...I was being moody and anti-LoR earlier, but got caught up in the torp discussion thing. I had no idea that this was lurking out there. Um, wow...that's uh - well, I think I said I figured it would be Leech/Emission in another thread earlier today...but still, wow - the rest - um...hrmm...yeah, I'm going to smoke. That's just way too much stuff to process.
Well, IMO that is awesome. Although I play KDF exclusively over the last year, with the Romulan faction, I was planning to go FED since I can get equipment for less, BOs for less, better missions, and get access to our Tier 5 starbase on the FED side (our Klingon starbase is only Tier 4 since so few play KDF.
It wasn't listed in the blog, but this is another item that's a possible prize in the box:
Genetic Resequencer: One of four new Traits, each packaged with one free Trait Respec. Each captain may only unpack each Trait a single time, after which time it will remain a permanent option they may select when choosing their Traits.
Helmsman - Space Trait:
+10% Flight Turn Rate
Evasive Maneuvers cooldown reduced by 10sec
Precise - Space Trait:
+25% Accuracy vs. Small Targets (Torpedoes, Mines, Fighters, etc.)
Conduit - Ground Trait:
Extra Shield Heal when using Shield Charges.
Extra Damage Bonus when using Power Cells.
Disassembler - Ground Trait:
+10% Damage vs. Non-Living Targets (Turrets, Holograms, etc.)

Ugh. At least only one of those traits is highly desirable for space PvP
that was my knee jerk, but 10% of a base 16 is just 1.6 extra for example. high end turn consoles come with at least +35%. this isnt the same as 10% more acc or 10 more defense. unless its 10% on final adjusted turn rate, but theres no way right?
