# 1 New PvP Upgrades

These are my suggestions for PvP upgrades

I'd like the following system


#1 Remove level 24 Requirement to create Klingon, Romulan (and potentially cardassian and borg races).
#2 offer a temperory race change option for 2 weeks. Also offer the chance to transfer the fleet with
the transfer of the parent leader of the fleet (ie if the leader chances race, so to does the fleet, but players belonging to the previous (first) race will become unfleeted and will not be transfered).

Create a System where each Sector (Block on galaxy map) Has one of three classifications

1: Protected system - these systems are for newbies only (Displayed in this example as green) open
world pvp could not take place here
2: Partially Protected zones - Flagging Required to be engaged into pvp. (Like world of war craft)
3: Neutral systems - Auto-Flagged for PvP (Like PvP server in world of war craft) (displays as white)

PvP Would work under the following conditions

1) if in hostile partially protected zones, you show red.
2) if in neutral zones, opposite factions show red to each other (hostile)
3) If in your races territory, and the other has diplomatic immunity they show (green)

All White, and Purple zones can change control of the faction

Inner Sector Battles

Battles of sectors would take place under the following conditions
To show on galaxy map you would need at least 30% of the system under control if your faction in that sector.

Each time you conquer a system, it emitts an aura that glows the color of your race (see below for example) this is displayed on the sector map. (current in game already, But this will change when control changes)

Capturing a system

capturing a system would take place on a planet, asteroid base, space station, or moon.

It would involve the player being down to the planet and taking control of a flag.

combat would fall under the following rules

1) respawn timer is every 60 seconds.
2) If your planet is captured while you are still in battle, you are forced to return to your ship
3) if you are on planet, your ship is phased out of space until you reboard your ship
4) You must set a Respawn point. These can be placed at a home world, or on any controlled system, or base.
There is a primary and secondary respawn point, in case the main respawn location is lost.

Lastly

You would add a system for fleets to benefit from the above pvp.

There is no level requirement with LoR. You can create Fed, KDF, Rom at level 1 as your first toon.

basically, you'd patch the game in three phases.


Phase one :
add in the view that people show hostile (the show like enemy npc's in your factions space" the player needs only go there and engage them, this will force both factions into pvp mode.

you'd want to set it up so that someone couldent just flag at the last minute in orbit of the planet, That would be to abusive.

The best way i can think of doing this is to make purple systems auto-flag rival factions, but cause the faction in that space have the choice to flag or not.

So if a klingon enters federation space, he is auto-flagged for pvp.
But if no federation flag, he has nothing to do there except lay siege to a planet.


Then Phase two

you add the planet battles, Its fairly simple. Make the map max out at like 50 v 50 or 100 v 100.

Anyone firing on a player ship in open space is immediately flagged as "renegade" and your first officer arrests you (shoots you DEAD for Klingons) and your account deletes you??

Pvp stays OUT of open areas or we go the way of lesser games that went PVP
ie we die

I dont know of any games that died because there were more pvp options.

a flag system would be a good start. then as you tool around the galaxy and you run into another flagged guy you could drag each other into a 1v1 match that then creates a "zone" where other ships can join in. kill counter would adapt to the number of players that end up in there. or you get 3 respawns before you're "ejected" from the map.

A great many games have died because of abusive mauler packs and open pvp

I won't stand by and let this become one

you want to shoot people? play Halo

the Klingons and the Federation are not in an open war

Imagine it
A new player on his first mission to to rescue the Azure leaves sol
and is immediately jumped and murdered by thirty rabid VA's

so I say Auto delete anyone commiting pvp in open space (including exploiters beaming into ESD or First city)
immeditately and lastingly

pvp should be closed instance and between consenting adults of equal rank

Rebel/Pirate Feds, KDF, Roms...no longer welcome in their home space. Hunted anywhere they go...seeking out a place of their own in the Gamma Quadrant or other areas of deep space. Getting together and trying to raid areas - most likely being overwhelmed by forces there...er...most likely flying around and empty space and the sheep wet themselves trying to logout fast enough... oops.

A great many games have died...in general.

Offer some examples of games that explicitly died because of Open PvP...and no other reason.
